Hi, I'm going to play IWD2 again and since it was a while I forgot if you needed a rogue in your party or not. I would use the rogue mainly for detect traps and disarm traps.

Also, where can I find the light of Cera Summat? The sword that gives +10

Thanks, love Sweden

Need for Rogue

Kind of depends on your style of play. While having a cleric cast find traps helps locate them it doesn't get rid of them. Some locations seem to have places where you can't pass without setting one off. So it will mean using up a lot of healing either as potions or spells. You could "get by" without one but honestly probably don't need a dedicated single class one either. My first party (now doing the last chapter) only has a barbarian/rogue (thought the barbarian side would help offset the lower hit points for rogue). I have been able to eliminate just about every trap (IIRC) and pick any lock I needed to.

A pure rogue can be quite powerful. He doesn't fight much worse than a fighter and can do 1-6 extra sneak attack damage for each 2 levels

But you don't need a rogue at all, you don't even need rogue skills. The traps are not really dangerous and all locks can be opened in another way, just bashed open.

You can also give the trap skill to a non-rogue with high int, 20 int and 1 point is as good as 10 int and 6 points in this skill. Only the skill is important when handling traps, not the class.
Most start their (specialist) mage or another high int character with 1 rogue level for the extra skill points at the start.

1 skill point in pickpocket should be enough for a high dex character like a shapeshifted druid to pickpocket the powerful item in the starting town if you want to make your game easier.
(I played my party game without pickpocketing, and the HoF druid needed only one skill point.)

.

...just for the rogue skills you really don't need a rogue - besides the already named tactics you can just use MI to disarm traps - even if this is a bit cheesy! ;)

...for a fighting rogue, a 3 level mix-in is the best choice IMHO or 11L combined with a wiz.

Great tips, thanks.

Now, where can I find the Light of Cera Summat? I know where the holy avenger is but that is slightly weaker than the LoCS.

The Light of Sera Summat is found at the exact same place and in the exact same way as the Holy Avenger, at Hrothgar's Glen, except that you have to find it while playing the game on Heart of Fury mode.

It's the upgraded version of the Holy Avenger.

Have fun getting it.
