Yes, world cup boys and girls. I'm currently watching a Netherlands vs Serbia Montenegro on TV, its 1x0 to Netherlands. YAY! go netherlands!

Until now, it was one of the most boring games to watch. If The Netherlands will even make it past the groupstage, they will either fail against Portugal or England.

Here's my top 4:
Brazil (I simply love Kaka, has to do with my adoration of Milan )
Italy (Again, see above... that, and I've always had a soft spot for the Italian team)
England (Strongest midfield of the entire WC)
Argentina (Always solid).


This WC is seriously messing with my upcoming exams. Bad, bad timing!

Germany.
Switzerland.
England.
Portugal.
Croatia.

I thought both teams in the Netherlands - Serbia Montenegro match played reasonaby well. That game and Argentina - Ivory Coast is the only two entertaining games so far imo.

I agree I found the match quite entertaning despite the lack of goals.

Argentina versus Ivory Coast made me realize how much I enjoy the world cup

Yeah I watched the Dutch as well and I am on the edge of disappointment in the sense of I though the Dutch would have far less problems than this. Although SM played well against them. Guess we'll be able to judge after their match against Argentina. I thought they played great last night, just enough, very good tactics. Was terribly dissapointed by the English though, talk about torture.

And I am thinking Brazil for the champion. They seem the best.

The English never do things the easy way lol (plus we have to play despite our manager cos he's pretty questionable when it comes to tactics and substitutions. We have a good team this year, just a really bad manager)

HA! We tied 1-1 with the Netherlands in a warm up game.

Tonight is Australia v. Japan, our first game.

I don't have much to add now, Brazil are my favorites with Argentina as No 2, nothing unusual there

I am seriously traumatised by Cameroon missing to qualify though

Holland played well today IMO although I was surprised they didn't score any more goals. Robbens looked really sharp, haven't seen him this good in Chelsea for almost a year!

No thoughts on Sweden's draw with T&T then, CE?

Oh well, I'm will just watch from the sidelines as a dispassionate observer, apart of course from those matches where Holland, Germany or France play, when I will happily cheer on their opponents.

No, not really apart from the obvious: Sweden didn't play well and the "SuperSwedes" (Zlatan Ibrahimovitch, Fredrik Ljungberg, Henrik Larsson) did not reach their potential. T&T played disciplined and stuck to their gameplan so in my book they deserved the draw although Sweden dominated the game in terms of chances and possession.

I'm not a big fan of Swedish football, so I am not too bothered by their failure! Besides, I think they will go through anyway since they most likely only need to beat Paraguay and draw with England.

In fact, I care far more about Cameroon than Sweden Eto'o is my favorite player together with Arsenal striker Thierry Henry.

Why do you anti-cheer for Germany, Holland and France? Bad neighbour thing?

EDIT: A survey showed that in Norway, Denmark and Finland, a majority of the population cheer for Sweden since they are not in the WC. You are mean!

Though there is not much love lost for the Germans in general, at least they're not perceived to be as arrogant as the other two. Hah. They shouldn't make jokes about us...

One match that I would love to see happen is Germany vs. Holland, but the chance is tiny, especially because Germany is just not in top shape.

Seriously though I doubt Holland will do much, I don't think they were that good yesterday. Though it's one of those teams that even if they are not so good, they can play for the ending score which is a lot in a tourney like this.

I wonder what the Italians will do tonight.
