Couple Questions...

1) Is it possible alternative to open the Grey House Demon Door even after you've completed 'Investigating the Mayor' and run Elvira out of Albion?

if not...

2) Is there any sequence you can follow to marry the mayor to open the door, then complete the investigation quest?

Thanks,
Danger

No. Spoiler, so please highlight:

That demon door requires you to marry someone important and that means marrying the mayor of Bowerstone North. No other alternate way. If you take the, 'Investigating the Mayor' quest and complete it, the mayor will disappear and you can't access the door.

Yes. Do the arena quest and after that, she'll offer you a chance to enter Bowerstone North. But if you marry the mayor then do the investigation quest, you won't have the chance to get rid of her.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Just thought I'd take a spit in the wind though. Anyways, must appreciated.

The answer to your second question is actually no (DesR85 said Yes, then explained why it was no). If you don't marry her, the door won't open. If you do marry her, you can't run her out of town. Have to choose between the two options, no way to get both.

Oops. My mistake. Should've actually said no. Dang! I'd better read the question properly next time. Well, at least I explained why its a no. Thanks for correcting me, Darzog.
