I've had a little bit of trouble with Jaheira (but it's got nothing to do with romance!).

Recently, I noticed that her shapechanging ability is just .. gone. The star button for special abilities is browned out as on a character with no abilities. At first I thought maybe she was wearing armor that's too restrictive, but she has this trouble with all her equipment removed. Anyone have any idea why?

The second is more interesting. In the Underdark, I was freeing various liches and mages and svirfneblin from that imprisonment machine not too far from whassisname, the mage with the voice done by Dwight Schultz (from the A-Team and Star Trek).. Anyhow, I digress. So I was freeing people from this thing and fighting most of them of course, and this one mage was whipping out some imprisonment spells.

Now I had bought all the freedom scrolls from the Duergar because well, it seemed a pretty heavy-handed hint for some dwarf peddler running around with ninth level spells on convenient scrolls, so when Jaheira got imprisoned, it seemed to be no problem.

However, imprisonment seems to remove the afflicted from the party, so when I got Jaheira up out of the ground, she was a regular blue-circle NPC.. but when I talked to her, I got the dialog about how we were wasting time and we had to get to the Harper's Hold in Athkatla. Then she disappeared, apparently magically transporting herself from Drow-land to Athkatla. I've done the Harper quest and she's got her nice Harper Pin, but she still seems to want to go there, maybe she likes dead Harpers, I dunno.

So, if anyone has any light to shed on these two issues.. I'd appreciate it.

Never let Jaheira out of your party, this causes problems. You may want to replay this part. As for the other problem: Has she been level drained? or Did you already use the days alotment of shape-changes?

Well, I certainly didn't -want- to let her out, that mage who mumbles and says "Uhh..." a lot decided she should take a dirt-nap. She's been level-drained in the past, I believe, but she's at her correct level right now. I hadn't used the days allotment because, well, I rarely ever use her shapechanging. I used Cernd's all the time, but not her. As for replaying.. I did that until the mage decided to imprison Valygar, who's much more flexible when it comes to being removed from the party.

While I was able to work around the imprisonment thing, it's still very inconvenient, and the shapechange thing I've no ideas on.

I've been a very helpful pack of adventurers, yes I have.

Only other suggestion I have is to cast "Cure Disease" on her. Several bugs in the program can be fixed this way. Even if nothing appears on her portrait that would indicate a problem, give a shot. She has the spell herself.

Alas, Cure Disease didn't work. It's not -so- bad, since I rarely had her shapechange anyhow.. but it's definitely irritating.

As always, use the ShadowKeeper. This marvelous program can give her the abilites back.

I've had the same problem, but with a petrification - and when I turned her back to flesh - she acted as you had kicked her out of your party - damned annoying, because I'd just survied a beholder-fight in the Underdark.

Just a thought, you said your rep was 20, Jahera is a true neautral,(I think) thus at rep being 20 she would break from the party in any event.

Naw, I was at rep 20 several times in different games and she just B*tched a lot.
