Help, corrupt save files

Hello everyone. It's over a year since i posted on this forum, but I guess you guys are as good as ever.

I recently started playing NWN again, played a little with many different chars/modules. Ended up starting OC as a monk. Now to the problem. Every day when i turn on NWN and try loading my quick save i get the message:
Could not load module.
Module file might be corrupt OR was created using a newer version of the blablabla.

This only happens when i try to load my quick save or latest normal save. When i loaded NWN yesterday I didnt care much about it since the auto-save was only 4 mins earlier, but today its 2 hours back :(

The strangest thing is that this only happens over the night, not every time i exit NWN. It is after every time i shutdown my PC though. I usually just pull out the power-cable on my pc when i go to bed at night, could it be thats what is causing the errors? But I did not effect my auto-save when I did it Thursday night.

Any help would be great

Just to be clear - you shut down your computer by just pulling the power cable, or you shut down your computer by booting down normally and THEN pulling the power cable? Because that first option is like forcing an outage of power on the computer and that's never good.

Pull the cable while all programs are still running. Thats what i did the 2 times the saves became corrupted atleast. Not that I do it every time i turn off the computer but i do it from time to time(3 am is hardly the time i think about power surges). 3.5 years of this treatment and it has never given me any problems.

There is a very good chance that it has damaged some of the files on your computer and that is why the saves are now corrupt. Windows is designed to be shut down properly, which is why it takes so long to shut itself down, and it can damage your files/hard drive if you just unplug it at the mains while it is still running.
