In my group I have a fighter, minsc, anomen, aerie, jaheira, imoen. All me guys have +3 weapons or better and the girls just have +2 weapons and nothing to protect them from the held spell and it's driving me nuts please help me

could help, but don't know who balor is.

A tip: spells can not be targeted directly at invisible chars.

Jaheira,Amoen and Aerie have the spell "free action" use it before the battle.and you cant be held.

there are loads of topics about fighting balor, looks at them for lots of useful info.

First time through I just stood and watched while Balor whacked my party one by one..

Second time through I sent in a sacrificial character, Minsc, and left my spell casters at the door. Hold didn't affect the people at the door and Balor concentrated on Minsc while I pelted him with spells and missles. Hit him with Disintegrate and I guess he didn't Save vs Spell 'cause that #@$%*%$ turned to dust!

I went Slayer on him and was able to take him out.

The balor in the Underdark (quest for sverniblin) just tears up fighters. My strategy was to summon up the best creatures I could summon (aerial servant, invisible stalker, skeleton warrior), and pelt him from afar with Melf's Minute Meteors while I continued to summon up replacements for those that died. It takes forever, and I had to reload many times to get through without anybody dying (I always ran out of summoning spells when he was almost dead) Aerial servant is REALLY good. Summon as many of them as possible. Does lower resistance, then greater malision, then hold monster work on him? If so, that would be the best way of all to kill him.

I also turned into the Slayer...I didn´t had any good weapons, which could hurt the balor...
I assume, that it is the balor in chapter 5.

Slightly tricky but; run a character with + ranged attack up to the far wall to the left and above the hole. Balor can't get at him/her there and keep everyone else outside the door.... Send summoned creatures to use up it's spells. Works every time but takes awhile.
