I wonder if Ladies who are not students ( Image) are playing BG2...

You must be joking.

You are a "jurnalist" but you cannot spell "journalist" correctly?

Gent's and Ladies

First of all, english is not my mother language (to put it another way, I am not neither American, nor English, Australian, Canadian or whatsoever) so I guess i could be forgiven for a misspel (happens to us all, i guess)
Second, by god's sake, i am not looking for a gf in this place, are you MAD?
Third, yes, i have read the book (in a Greek translation, i fear) some years ago, and i liked it alot.
Hey, people, why are some of you so offensive? Really, i think you need Minsk do some butt-kicking for goodnes, her

Hey, take a look at all those smilies! The messages are overflowing with them! Image

And to be honest ... if you read your message in that light ... doesn't it look a tiny bit weird, eh? Image Image

By the way, English isn't my primary language either. Image

Billy, i think we are the only greeks but others seem to be the geeks...

whatever, i feel kinda generous tonite, so i will NOT answer to anyone... not even Maurice...
BTW being lvl 10 berserker and having an NPC party i find it kinda hard killing the Red-bleeding-Fiercrag-dragon. Any suggestions who could apply to my party (i came here after finishing the find-the-20.000-who-really-are-15.000-gold) ???
Still, i think some of you people need a good butt-kicking for goodnes, delivered to you by Boo!!!

There is a topic some pages back called "Taking on dragons".You should check it to get some tips for fighting Firkraag effectively.

I wouldn't refer to it as "fighting" it is cheating... If you want to cheat, at least do it properly. Download Shadowkeeper, get 25 in all stats, 100% resistance to everything and some 1500 hp thrown in for good measure - Then beat up Firkraag and try to figure out why it wasn't any fun.

I was just about to say what Rumagent said when I read his post. (I agree Image)
The dragon slaying tips are just ways of taking advantage of the AI of the dragons and so on. They're no fun. You can beat them without resorting to dirty tactics and without losing half your party. I found defensive spells and enchantments helpful, but my PC was a fighter/mage. Just make sure you cast breach and then your warriors should be able to hack him to pieces. Draw Upon Holy Might and haste on your beserker should work well. The specifics of how to do this you'll have to figure out for yourself Image

Well,it seems that some players think that they are the best and not resorting to "tricks" make them better than others-an opinion i don't agree.I will only say that i beat Firkraag with a lvl 9 party and no tricks like attacking him while in blue circle (not hostile) etc.
But if someone found him difficult to beat and wants to do so without getting frustrated then he can follow the tactics in the post. And doing so,he is not cheating because he don't think they way i or some other players do.
Any tactics are welcome. The decision to use them or not it is up to the player.

Let's not forget the Dragon is not suppose to be pushover. And yes any Tactics are welcomed .

Just a thought : Following your line of logic, it wouldn't be cheating using shadowkeeper either.

But you are correct. People who have spent money on a game can play it however they like. But it doesn't change the fact, that using a flaw in the game is a cheat NOT a fighting tactic.

So relativly speaking.....If you were fighting a war and knew of a flaw in the enemies line, and you took advantage of it....You would be "cheating".

;p

Dragons suck.....I dont wanna have to tone down the game diffuclty cause everything else I have fought is a cake walk, yet I hit the dragons and BAM!!! dead. There needs to be a margin of diffculty increase in the monsters (IMO, the biggest and ONLY flaw in BG2), rather then skipping through every scenerio only to hit a nearly unbeatable creature.

Halfdane: Your argument is flawed. It is an error in the game, is it not? It was never *intend* to be there. In short : the game has a bug. If your argument holds true, then it would just be smart to use a tool like shadowkeeper. But it is not - it is cheating (imo anyways).

I am glad you find dragons difficult to battle. They are supposed to be. They can be beaten if you employ a good strategy and don't mind taking quite a bit of damage - there are countless post on the board telling of such deeds. If you still cannot beat the dragon - don't fight it! Or cheat if you like, you paid for the game and can do whatever you like.

hehe, I feel stupid...I didnt post the first half of my message. There is a "bug" due to slaying dragons, but I was refering to the method they suggest with going in prep'd with Creatures, etc...The stupid FoW method and the whole "pause" things IS cheating. The dragon stragety has multiple ways to kill a dragon, and our greek friend SHOULD check it out and use it as a tool for fighting his dragon.

I say poke em where it hurts *Points to the eyes* Mazzy can put 1 right on in there.

I don't condone ShadowKeeper nor do I condone bug usage, BUT the stargety guide does have some helpful info for any going into the fight.

As far as them being tough...My whole problem is that, though the game is GREAT, I found that only diffcult battle I had in the ENTIRE game was the dragons. YES, they should be hard, but I think they creatures should be all around harder. I for one like to set the game on hard and play it through and expect a tough game.....not put it on hard and WALK through the game.

Maybe you know Rum....Is there any AI increase I can do besides just turning up the combat diffuclty?

For the record The shadow dragon took me 16 tries, and the red took me 3 on max diff. I found the red alot easier cause I can prep for that battle with potions and scrolls, while the shadow tore my group up with level lose. Nothing like have my 2 caster drop to level 4 and lose all their spells

;p

Well, Bill, i did got past the dragon with the old "Faketalk" strategy but, as some people in this forum (and yourself) implied, "it wasn't fun". So i reloaded and tried it again, with "conventional" strategy this time. Had two of my squad members killed and the rest heavily bruised, but i managed to slaughter the mfsob - and, yes, it is quite challenging this battle. And not only that, it IS true that the dragon battle (i am only to that point of the game, just finished ch.3 - haven't got much time to play damned!!!) is by far the most difficult in the game. The ONLY difficult one, to that point!
BTW, i am playing two games simultaneusly (progressing like a damn tortoise - due to lack of time) my Berserker (lvl 9-10) party has done with the draggie, my monk party ain't there yet.
