Fire Emblem

(I would like to say before posting this, that I am unsure if this is the correct forum or not)

I have played and completed (in the sense of defeating the final boss) Fire Emblems 7 and 8 (unlabled/Rekka no Ken and Sacred Stones), and I am wondering if anyone else has played any of these games.

I'm also interested in knowing about previous Fire Emblem games, because as they seem to only be in Japanese, I'd have to learn Japanese or keep a J-E dictionary on hand at all times, or else lose all enjoyment of the game being unable to follow the story.

I have played FE7, not completed it though. I'm on chapter 26 and loving it, but can get annoying when one of your character dies. I just can't bring myself to carrying on without them! It's also frustrating to get as many of the supports as poss but fun once again.

It bugs me as well that the previous games only came out in Japan, my first experience of the characters from the orginal games were Roy and Marth in Super Smash Brother Melee, on the GameCube.

Aye, I never let a character die, it's just too horrible.

Same for me with the first experience bit, got my copy of FE7 while I was in France, hehe. :p

I'm guessing his reply was linking to sites containing questionable content?

No it wasn't. I just want to make that clear. But I am not allowed to discuss previously mentioned comments further. I apologise to any that may have read them and acted upon them.

It is just a shame that we cannot buy any of the earlier Fire Emblem games outside of Japan as I would really like to play them.

Aye, me too.

I'm considering getting myself a Japanese-English dictionary and going and getting a bunch of FE games from Japan.

Then sitting down for a good long time translating it. :D

While we're having this pleasant little discussion here, who is your fav char in FE7?

Hm...Lucius I guess. :)

Doh, should have guess really. Kept wondering where I had seen that pic before :p

Mine's probably Raven, he just never seems to get hit but he can sure kick some butt back. Also like his story. Never really used Lucius tho, used Canas more. Might have to use him when I go through Hector's story.

Heh, the first time I went through the game I had Erk, Canas and Lucius as a trio of 20-20 advanced class mages. :D

I like Raven, though he wasn't always greatly accurate with his attacks. :(

How good are your lords? When it comes right down to it, Lyn, Hector, Eliwood and Pent are the people you're going to really need in the end, though that doesn't mean that you should ignore the others.

Damn, now I really feel like playing FE7. :(

I'm afraid for my apparent ignorance of the game, but I thought this was an RPG?

It's not an RPG series, it's a strategy battle game series.

Only the female characters matter, as always :p
