Wizard Slayer/Theif

I was looking to create a wizard slayer/theif after I read the soloing BG II artical by Evil Eye. The theory being, get 15% magic resestance from the wizard slayer as it is one per level and the 85% from items as the high level theif ablility "use any item" overrides the wizard slayers restrictions. But when I created by wizard slayer it seemed to gain 2% per level (in the record page at level 14 it said magic resestance 28). Is the numbers on the record page %? So does that mean I could dual at level 14 and then have enough experience points to reactivate the warzard slayer in SOA? I could even dual at level 8 if i wanted, would that be better? and what level does a theif have to be to "use any item"? Thanks in advance,
Telthos

When I didn't have ToB installed a WS got 2% MR/level but now with ToB they get 1%, maybe it is because of the patch, I don't know. If you get two well then that is good. You will get your first ability at roughly 3 million in your second class. Dual atleast at level 13 or your thac0 will be crap.

Thanks, but the other important thing I'd like to know is when the theif gets it's ablity "use any item". I don't really want to spend hours playing and then not be able to use decent stuff.

You get to choose the abilities when your character reaches the 3 million xp point for that class. So as soon as you get to 3 million you can select the Use Any Item ability out of a list of other abilities.

With SK one can make multi Wizard Slayer/Thief. One should wait longer for the Use Any Item ability then, though.

With a multiclass fighter/theif you get your first ability much sooner than with a dual. You also get to pick more abilities and you get to pick from both pools. This imo makes multiclassed fighter/thieves way better then kensai/thiefs and/or WS/thiefs.
Of course as said above you can always use SK to create a multiclass fighter/thief with a fighter kit but then I would rather go with the barbarian kit.
