I'm not certain a thread like this has been done, so my apologies if that is the case.
Okay, I've played through this game on more occasions than I'm able to count, and I've just been thoroughly humbled...
I mean.. I thought I basically knew everything there was to know about SoA.
Erm.....I only just discovered that you *can* return to the Underdark after escaping it....
Does anyone have similar experiences to recount?

. I can't believe I didn't notice that big fat guy in the Promenade. I mean, c'mon, he's so fat!

Bodhi turned both my undead skeletons (lvl 15+) back to me which promptly ended my life.

Just spent fifteen minutes talking with the Elven commander Elhan and his truth sages convincing them:
No, I'm not evil... No, Viconia won't eat your children... Yes, Irenicus = bad guy...
... only to finally terminate the conversation and have Keldorn declare holy war on Viconia and smash her with Carsomyr, right in front of the elven crowd.
*sigh*

I am LMFAO!
That is too funny. Sad because you had to reload (and possibly install the Happy mod) but very funny.
I can just imagine hanging my head in despair if that happened to me.

Once, doing the Unseeing Eye quest, I was talking with Gaal to get the artifact for him and out of the blue Minsc turns yellow and attacks Gaal with dual maces. Minsc got 2 back to back critical hits and screamed "Yeah-Hay!!!"
Gaal then tuned yellow and fled whilst the rest of the cult just stood there.. Why he attacked him I do not know but it was quite funny.

LOL! I think I'm gonna write a little story about that!
So right after IorDMUX had his conversation with Elhan about simple things that the stupid elf couldn't understand, Keldorn decided to pull out his Motorolla Razr and call his wife.
*ring**ring*
"Hello?"
"Hi honey, how are you?"
"Oh, I'm fine, hows your little adventure with IorDMUX going?"
"Pretty good, I just learned that elves are stupid. So anyways, how are the kids?"
"Well, Keldy...I have to tell you something. The kids were eaten--by Viconia"
"What?! This cannot be true. Hang on honey, I'll call you back"
"Viconia, did you eat my children?"
*BUUUUURRRP*"Uhhh, noo......"
"Yes you did! To hell with you, Drow!"
I don't know, the urge came on me.

I have one...
I didn't know you got a ton more gold by finishing Nalia's keep with her in the party vs not. I've never taken her with me (can you blame me?) so I always assumed I was just getting short changed and happy to take the experience.
Oh well.

Thank you. Man, that was the funniest thing I've read in a long time.
My most embarrassing moment, keeping in mind I try to never reload:
Fresh out of Irenicus's Dungeon, in Waukeen's Promenade, I bumped into Pebblecrusher and his gang of wierdos, complete with a talking parrot named Pooky.
Talk trash with me, will you??? Mulahey, Tazok, Davaeorn, Aec'Letec, the Iron Throne, Sarevok, Oopah... I'll be happy to add these punks to the list!
Well, they smoked me good. Reloaded, and steered clear of Pooky.
Not long after that, the next (potential) fight I stumbled upon was in the Temple District sewers. I was confronted by a band of robbers led by a dwarf named Draug Fea, who promptly requested all my gold in return for letting me live.
Keeping in mind I try to never reload, guess who left the scene broke?
*ashamed*

lmao, these are great!
I just experienced yet another moment of feeling thoroughly dense. I had toyed with the idea of getting Jaheira back because I really missed "Insect Swarm."
Then I decided I'd go and deal with Firkragg before making that decision. During the fight, Aerie, my only cleric, died.
I didn't have the Rod of Ressurection, so I went off to the Temple to raise Aerie...completely forgetting I had been considering grabbing Jaheira again...
I shelled out my 1800 gold.... and then during an ambush while traversing areas, I impatiently had my high level mage (Tsujatha) cast Fallen Planetar....
Out of curiosity I clicked on the Fallen Planetar's magic icon and was amazed to see that it had a very long and useful set of spells,
including "Raise Dead," and "Insect Swarm." I'd had no idea....

Several times, I've attempted soloing a non-warrior class, gone to the docks and had my backside handed to me on a plate by a crazy Priest of Cyric.
Priest of Cyric casts Hold Person
CharName held.
Priest of Cyric hits for 2 damage.
Priest of Cyric hits for 4 damage.
Priest of Cyric hits for 1 damage.
--10 minutes later--
CharName: Death.
*buries face in hands*

Wow. I thought that priest of Cyric was a pushover but, hey, I was killed once by that mephit in the sewer golem room in the Irenicus dungeon...

I had a series of embarrasing events yesterday.
It started even before I started playing: I couldn't find my CD2 that I needed to play. Checked the CD box, couldn't find it. Checked all over my desk, still couldn't find it. Checked the box again, and then checked the places where the CD couldn't have been anyway. After 20 minutes of searching, still no result. Checked the CD box again and found out that CD2 was simply covered by CD3.
Possible spoilers ahead...
I then went to finish Bodhi in the graveyard district. I wiped out the dungeon, wiped out Bodhi and left the tombs. When I was about to exit the graveyard I noticed I didn't have the lantern with me. Went back to Bodhi's room to check if I hadn't left anything there, but didn't find anything. So I went to the docks to speak to the oghma priest, and then I figured I really should have found the lantern and Bodhi's heart (it's been a few years since I last played the game, so I forgot about that). So I head back to the graveyard district, entered the tomb and went to Bodhi's room to find out I forgot to stake her coffin
After that I went to the temple ruins to restore Aerie. I put her and the heart in the altar and nothing happened. Strange, I thought by myself, and tried to remove her and put her back into the altar. Still no reaction. I checked the SoA walkthrough on this site to find out I had to put her in the statue, not the altar.

Great Thread
Great idea for a thread Dragon Wench
Not as good as some of the other stories but here's mine.
Cast invisibility on Minsc and had him scouting out the area where the cold creatures reside in the Planar Sphere. Took him around the room to reveal where they were. Forgot to take him back out. My PC (mage combo) and Nalia both launched a fireball into the room. Was a like a tac nuke, and darn near toasted Minsc. He had about 10/12 hit points left. Was kinda funny to see him standing there with the little residual flames after effect though.
Oops, sorry Minsc "ouch".

ROFL!
Minsc: "Boo says: Minsc looks like a butt-kicked, spit-roasted hamster!"

For those of you who enjoy the embarrasment I can heartily recommend playing as a Wild Mage.
There's nothing like turning your entire party into squirrles at the most vital point in your battle with Firkraag.

Once I was going to kill the shadow dragon and I told my sister (who was watching and saying the game should be too easy even though she never tried it) to look how hard it was to kill a dragon.
Aerie - Chromatic Orb - Dragon petrified! Poof! No scales, XP and my sister went out like "hahahahahah..." and I got really stunned. I didnt know that Chromatic Orb would trespass magic resistance (there is a bug regarding this).
************
My first game through was nice, but I've dismissed Haerdalis cause I thougth bards were weak. Two runs later I'd kill dragons with Haerdalis alone, then another run later I'd solo a bard, and after that I've learned his swords are the ultimate destruction warfare machinery on the game
Draining attributes isnt nice.
************
My first run through with Tactics mode was a nightmare. Then I had to face John Irenicus and I thougth "now he's an improved mage, aye, lets finish this quickly with Keldorn". 15 reloads later, I was using wish and time stop to cheese my way to victory...
