Help....No illithium to upgrade....

I have fail to do the temple quest(the ore quest,that means i didnt get real illithium )That was ok....until find out I need the strange ore to upgrade my Mace of Disruption.... and no previous save......what should i do:steal from some one? or cheat? any other way to upgrade it?
any one help?

If you didn't do the quest, just head back over to the temple district, i believe you can still get the quest. If you skipped the
whole temple district quests and just want the illithium...use ShadowKeeper...If you go do the quest remember that getting the pure illithium for the church will also mean you cannot upgrade the mace in a legit way. get em the fake one....unless you're a goody...

Can you actually get him to accept the fake? When I gave it to him he saw it was fake since it had fingerprints on it.
It seems to me the only way to complete the quest is to give up on getting the +2 Mace.

Actually, Nighthawk, you get a reward anyways if you bring the alloy back to the temple. Seems beauty is in the eye of the beholders, so to speak. ;-)

ShadowKeeper is a saved game editor you can download from somewhere I forget where...but do a search on it. As for doing the quest...i just talked to the ore merchant at Waukeens promanade, got her to tell me her source then had her make me some fake illithium anyway. Then i got the fake and took it to the church..got the reward for that. Then went to find her contact and went about getting the real illithium for myself...(hey I was Chaotic Nuetral..what do i care).

You can try down loading the Shadow Keeper Baldurs Gate 2 editor from :
1. The Adrenaline Game Vault site : [url="http://www.avault.com."]www.avault.com.[/url] Just look at the game cheat section under BG2.
