I was told that u could go fishing and hunt deer is that true? ... haha sorry for sounding so dumb.

Not dumb at all: a perfectly good question. And yes, you can hunt deer. You'll need a bow for that, since they run at the approach of people. If you succeed in bringing one down and click on the carcass, you'll find vension meat, which functions as an alchemical ingredient.

You can - but that doesn't mean you sit on the bank with a fishing rod! There are fish in certain areas, most notablythe Rumare Slaughterfish found in Lake Rumare, but they're pretty deadly. It helps if you have a Water Breathing spell, you'll have to find a spot, wait, and then hack them when they attack you. They're also part of a quest, but I won't add spoilers............

As for the deer, they're found all over the place - they're very quick, but if you're good enough with a bow and arrow you can kill them with one shot if you poison your arrow. My Speed is now good enougth for me to chase them and kill them with a sword if I want, but bow and arrow is more of a fair contast!

Nope. A fair contest would be to take on the deer with nothing but your natural weaponry. That's all the deer is using. Oh, and very old trick that I've used successfully in real life - chameleon (in real life, camoflage). Sneak up on the deer. I've been close enough to a deer in the wild to actually touch it before it noticed me, so in principle I could have killed it with a knife. Killing deer that way is delicate work, though, even in Oblivion. The good news: if you can learn how to sneak up on a deer in Obllivion, then you can probably sneak up on anything.

Good point - though in fairness my Marksman skill is below 10, so, 1 shot is all I get, and as they never stay still for long, I miss far more than I hit!

Then you have something to look forward to, Max. I'm long since Master of Ranged and Sneak, and have dropped 3 deer out of a herd of 5 with a bow before they knew they were in trouble. Of course, I could have just dusted the lot with a strong fireball, but where's the fun in that?

i was on top of a hill looking into a valley and i saw 3 deer (all the deer i see are in 3's) down below me. i got off my horse and nocked (spelling?) an arrow. whoosh! i missed just barely so i use chameleon and snuck closer and nocked a second arrow. i zoomed in and shot an arrow and right as it was about to hit it it moved out of the way and started to run.
I hate deer. they have a sixth sense.

alright thanx a lot guys. Also just one more question, and im sorry if it has been asked. I read a review and it said something about in game drugs(it had a term for it as well), is this true, and if so where do i get it and what does it do?(also is it illegal?)Thanx again guys

I never kill deer. I mean, why should anyone kill them? They are harmless, they offer you no threat. And you can get other stuff to make healing potions, so it isn't necessary to kill them for that reason either.

Relax, I haven't killed a living thing since I was 26 (and that's a long time ago).

Tristan, the drug you refer to is called "Skooma". I hear tell that there are sellers in the game, but I don't know where. As with most illegal drugs, it is totally illegal to even possess, but carries a high price. I've never dealt in the stuff, and it is up to you to choose whether or not to do so.

I fear the deer. they are vicious. they chase me and threaten to nibble on my ankles till i fall over in a tickle fit.

Well , I kill people that cross my path in the woods or on the roads between towns for no good reason..... so killing a deer doesnt really upset me...

Exploding bodies

yes exploding bodies. Ive been reading posts about this a lot. And either my character is a big wussy or something. I cant explode bodies or rip people's limbs... how would i got about doing this? thanx
