Soo... playing a kensai / thief and being all evil and ****, so i just killed mea'var and went to renald to claim my awsome sworth of backstabbing +3 only to found out that when i choose to run the guild house i dont get the sworth? if i decline i do get the sworth? now this short sworth is gonne be the best thing till i get on the island so i kinda do want it.. is there a other way to get it when running the stronghold?

I am playing a thief and just finished the stronghold etc....
It's a pain, because you seem to have to return every 5 days or so to see how your thieves did; then wait a few more days to pay Renal's lackey
Unless you want to modify your thives activities to turn a good profit, I don't see what you really gain ... then I'm guessing you will have to bribe guards or something to get your thieves out of trouble
I think on regular activities, you make $900 ? ... seems I was paying $500; $500; $1,000; $1,000; $350 ... and the cycle repeated = I could be off a bit
That's a $1,150 profit every 25 days ? ... again, just from memory
Don't know, as I got fed up of returning while questing elsewhere = I hate disc swapping
So, I just let them keep the guild.
If you need money, just add the cheat code to compensate the time/$ you figure you would own the guild = unless cheating the extra bucks bothers you

If you want the sword & run the guild; you can create it via a cheat .... the item code is SW1H10

Gain the guildhall, steal the sword.
That's what I always do.

Get the [url="blucher.fortunecity.com"]Expanded Thief Stronghold[/url] mod, and you can eventually get something quite a bit better than the Short Sword of Backstabbing. It has two extra quests for the PC guildmaster and adds lots of little things (like being able to get your thieves out of jail by breaking in and fighting/sneaking your way through). A new version is up, and an "expansion" to it is in the works.

Well.. i realy dont wanne cheat or install any mods, but stealing the sworth from him would be oke with me.. just i tryed pickpocketing him and got allot of other **** but no sworth? (seems silly to me that when playing a thief you cant do the stronghold and get the sworth.. i mean its one of the better backstabbing sworths around)

EDIT: BTW, I'm playing the Thief stronghold for the first time, and it's kinda boring.

Does this "handling business" ever end, or can I just give it up eventually?

I kill time by resting ... to further my romance/dialogue
I too got fed up and just kept questing(Trademeet, Umar etc...) and I received text that the guild was taken from me.
No repercussions.
