Is there a certain person in the game who will detail abilities and things like that for me to tell me things like what recall does, or soultrap etc.

No, guess you're stuck with the manual. Or us. All people here will be happy to explain or try to help you in other ways.

We'll deal with questions not answered by the manual, as Coot pointed out. But for spell contents, your manual lists them all.
