I just recently re-purchased icewind dale II.....the game was working great until I got to the 2nd level under the horde fortress and it started to have a massive lag to the framerate (not sound). I have a sound blaster 24 bit sound card and a nvidiaGforce4000 graphics card on a dell dimension 2100, its an old computer but the game should work perfect on it (it's one of the reasons I purchased the game).

It's a well known glitch. There is a patch that is supposed to help. Can't remember where its found though.
