I can't seem to find those stupid kids, that I bought the longswords for. Has anyone done or finished this quest?

I think the quest is done when you buy them swords and/or booze. Guess they run off and get drunk and kill each other...LOL

no no no they get drunk and confuse a gibberling with a dragon in the cave.(note: dont acept this quest if you are a ranger, you lose the chanse to get the stronghold)

Try going towards the stairs going up the mountain and see if the kids are there. Hope this helps.

I bought them swords (I was a ranger- but I had already completed all 3 ranger quests), and then I never saw them again. I didn't buy them the beer though so I don't know what happens. I am playing evil the next time thru so I will buy them beer and swords.

If you just give them the swords you will still find them in the cave but fighting a shadow or something.
...They flee, You kill the monster, End of story...
