I don't remember ever finding such an item, but you could try looking it up on this site. If it exists, it should be here with a location. What does your brother say it does? Maybe he's getting it confused with another item.

I haven't seem the horn you describe... The only horns I have found in Irenicus' maze (I assume by this you mean the asylum) are quest items.
I am, however, fairly certain that there was an item in BG1 called "Horn of Kazgaroth". As far as I know, the only way to get it in BG2 is by using an editor of some sort. Are you certain you brother is not playing a trick on you?

IIRC then it is a BG1 item, you can purchase for the mage at the High Hegde

i would have thought that if i hadnt seen it myself... the only other way he could have is if it came with his imported BG1 character but i thought you lost all items if you did that

Well, it is possible to import a character and still keep your stuff. It is, however, not something you do "by accident".
Then there is always the possibility that he has set Debug Mode=1 in the .ini file and used CLUAConsole:CreateItem("MISC73",1).
Either way he is cheating.

If he started a multi-player game, he can import more characters (go to the character arbitration screen), and he can also import characters from BG 1 WITH their equipment. This could include the Horn of Kazgaroth, which indeed existed within BG 1 (and therefor also in BG 2, since only very *FEW* items from BG 1 are NOT present in this game).

The horn of Cazgaroth can be found somewhere in Ironecus dungeon, at the beginning of the game. I think it's in the small room before the garden with the 3 driads, I'm not sure. It has the same properties than in BG 1 : brings you some protection (especially against lower level spells), but deals you some damage. I you need more details, I'll check tonight.

I've never seen it.
When and where do you find it?

Sorry, my older save is at beginning of chapter 2, so I cannot remember exactly where I Found it. But it was in a cabinet or a chest, not on a monster. And no, I did not use a game editor.

Well, that's funny... My son did not find it either, but he did find a baldurian helmet I did not find. Could some objects be different from one game to another ? The only difference is that I imported my fighter from BG 1, while he created his fighter-mage.
By the way, here are the characteristics (sorry, I have the french version, so some words may not be correctly translated) :
When activated, it gives you for some time :
Immunity against 1st and 2nd level spells
Save against death, wands, metamorphosis, (wind ? I don't know what it is) and spells : + 2
AC +5 vs missile weapons
Deals some unknown damages when activated.
Cannot be used by clerics, druids and thieves.
Voila... Hope this helps.

I've both imported and created a character.
The only difference I can think of is alignment - I always play Good or Neutral (Chaotic).
I've only found Baldurans Helmet.
Gotta load a evil game tomorrow to see.

I have played though the game being good/evil/neutral and I have never found that the horn of kazgaroth. I have checked the walkthrough by Dan simpson and neither has he.
Could you please replay Irenicus' dungeon and give us an excact location... It would make a lot of people happy.
Btw: you can find the Helm of Balduran in the room before the dryads.

You're hard with me ! I do not have lot of time to play, and going thru this whole dungeon again...
I may try, but I need to do it with the same PC to reproduce it... May be I will try to patch it with an editor to go very fast to this place, hoping it will not change anything else (no, I never did that before).
Another solution would be for me to send you my saved character (the one I imported from BG1). Send me a request if you're interested.
I also use a french version. I don't think it matters, because my son found the helmet and not the horn.
By the way, I think (but I'm not abolutely sure) I've found this horn where you found the baldurian helmet.

Remember folks, the Bioware team has said that if you import a BG1 character you may find bits of your old gear instead of the "default" gear in some places (i.e. your long sword +2 instead of a generic long sword +1). This is probably such a case. If you import a character from BG1, who HAD the horn, it could be that you find it instead of the Helm of Balduran in the prison.
