i noticed that if you use an intervention spell or scroll(well, actually iv only used almsivi, not sure about divine) wen your inside you go to a completely random intervention destination. im not sure if its completely random, but iv used almsivi in ebonheart and ended up in ald'ruhn...and balmora...and vivec(my target) i dont think its completely random. iv only gotten to aldruhn a few times, balmora a little more, and vivec a little more than that. im playin on xbox non-GotY so im not running any mods. im not really sure what i expect as replies, but i thought i'd post this.

p.s. sorry if its not a spoiler. i read somewhere that if you arent sure, put spoiler.

The intervention spells take you to the closest temple/cult shrine to the location where it is used. This is straight line distance. For example, just outside of the Foreign Quarter in Vivec I quite often end up in Pelegiad rather than Ebonheart when using Divine Intervention.

i know that, but ald'ruhn is about twice as far away as balmora, and i cast from the same place(in the imperial cult shrine area)

Are you running any mods?
Some of the mods I've used affect intervention spells. For example, if I cast either Almsivi or Divine Intervention while inside certain house mods I'd end up at the respective Mournhold temple or shrine.

I've found that if I take a mage guild transport from, say, Ald'ruhn to Vivec, then if I cast a divine intervention (to go to Ebonheart), It'll think that I'm in Ald'ruhn and cast it from there, leaving me in the nearest Imperial cult (don't know which one, maybe Gnisis or something).
As such, where possible, I always cast outside.

I don't think recall has problems about sending you to the wrong place, as it will send you to the one place marked no matter what, it doesn't have to do any calculations on distances.

It depends what the cell name is for example the interior cell "ebonheart, house" belongs to Ebonheart. But if the cell is just "house" There is no way for the game to work out where outside is so it just works it out randomly.
