I've been thinking...is anyone playing a totemic druid?? or a wizard slayer???
IMO totemic druid is a really nice kit, the problem is that it's frustrating when you arrive at 1.500.000 pts.

Who wants to be a wizard slayer when you can be a wizard?

They're not called wizard-slayers for nothing you know. I mean do you hear tell of mages called 'Fighter-slayers'?
PS I think inquisitor is underused seeings as you lose lots of powers and there is one inthe game already.

Druid kits are not used so often, and ofcourse the infamous Wizard Slayer... The most useless of all the kits-classes in the game. If someone soloes the game as a W.S. he should be called "Saint of BG2"!!!

Well Mr Gruntbboy...
I have to agree with you about the inquisitor thingy. But i think that wizards have more choices in a fight. With a wizard you can fight your opponent in maybe 10 different ways. With a fighter it is just hack slash.. Not so fun in the long run...

And anyway.... all wizards are fighter slayers..

Apart from that one dude, there can't be many jesters out there either. I mean you get the harp of discord early on if you really want a bard. Blades are kinda redundant to what with H'D. Cool characters to play though.

Just joking with the wizard-fighter thing. It is a *bold* statement though. Read Idiots Vs Brainers for all the gossip. I ain't getting in to this here.

What about mage kits? Diviners and Invokers don't seem to be popular.
Fighter/Druids definitely becasue of jaheira.
I get the impression people aren't too hot on some of the restrictions - any archers or beastmasters to prove me wrong?

Grunty, I am finishing the game with two parties and beginning with a third. One of the two finishers is a whole-but-one made of me party, and there IS an Archer (the rest are Sorcerer (PC) Barbarian, Undead Hunter, Thief/Mage. He is coooool!!!! But, still, cause of the restrictions in the longbows and the ammo, he is not as strong as the stronger classes (i.e. Paladins, fighter kits, barbarians, multiclassed mages etc.)

As i've said in another post, try dual class a kensai to druid...you get exp quicker and have a lot of useful spells...another good thing (that i've done and i like A LOT)is dual classing a totemic druid to fighter. You have the opportunity to gain 6th level spells soon and you have spent only FEW exp points. When dual classed driuds are great, but not a plain druid.

I like the totemic druid kit. I don't use the reguler druid shapechenge ability much, so it isn't much of a sacrifice to give that up for the totemic abilities.
I like archers. They can be devastating, but it seems beastmasters would never be used. I have a dual-classed beastmaster/cleric and I can't imagine sticking with just beastmaster.
I agree, though, wizard slayers have to be the worst.

Hmmm im not sure. I always use an Invoker. They are the magic missle etc.. class. The mage you imagine a AD&D mage would be liek is the Invoker.

Sorry, I am a little off topic, but I see some of you that your parties include a paladin member and a thief!
Obviously you can put whoever you want in a party, but this doesn't play out the alignment. How can a paladin (or any paladin kit) walk around with a thief beside him/her???

Read the manual ; Thief . to accomplish his goals, for good or ill, the thief is a skilled pilferer. Now with that being said a thief can be good or bad.

Tain, your point is valid only if you are talking about an assasin rather than a thief, IMHO. Thieves are not inherently evil, and many do not actually steal anything anyway.

Yes, Weasel you're right. I just think it's kinda weird for a thief being 'good'. There is nothing honorable or virtuous in stealing, things that a paladin must hold up to.

Geh4th, isn't getting goodies from chests considered stealing??
Well, maybe your right. EXPERT treasure hunting is a much better word for it, yes.

If I had to guess I would say that 60 to 70% of thieves are neutral or evil. It might be more than that. I believe some people play thieves that are based on Robinhood. There is a lot of ways to use thieves without breaking the code of a paladin. Say you enter a cave where an evil(bad) mage has his/her treasure , would it be against a paladins code to stop the thief from opening the magus chest and taking the stuff in it.
Now if you are running around pickpocket people it is not right to have a paladin in your group(At least by AD&D rules I believe). But they paid for their game and have the right to play as they want too.
