Is there a way to remove the caps limitation or to raise it?

Yeppers. www.sorcerers.net has some utilities that could help you.
Remember that eliminating the xpcap is by itself very pointless since you will get no benefit from it in BG2. The game itself only supports the various level up advancements to a certain point. You'll need some kind of rules expansion editor to actually have some use for it. I noticed that my monk did not get any further bonuses whatsoever even with this expanded ruleset so there's no garuante that it will work.

http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/BG2/index_editors.htm (look for level 50 patch and xpcap remover towards the bottom of the page)
By the way. The capremover for bg1 should work for bg2. They work on identical principles after all. This link should contain all you need though.

Sorry that didn't work. I guess the version on the sorcerers.net was simply not up to date.
