Plot Door Cheat

I am stuck in the Puzzler's Room in HotU Ch. 3, where I have to line up the gargoyles to open the door. The problem is, it doesn't work, even though I have done exactly what several websites describe. I have heard other people have this problem and the only way around is with a cheat to open the door. Does anyone know what it is?

If this is the door where you need to turn 3 gargoyles and lock them into place with a lever which then shows a little "shield-type" spell around the gargoyle..... then that door isn't plot critical and can be avoided if needs be.
But once you have locked the statues, they can't be unlocked, and yes to open the door you need to cheat.

Or is this the door where you need to turn gargoyles that "shoot" out a colored beam of light to break down a door, after the "teleporting on platform" puzzle?

Sounds to me like it's the teleporting puzzle.

Yeah, it is the teleporter. I never did figure out the bombmaker puzzle, so I skipped it, but I can't advance without this one, and I am quite stuck. I know there is a cheat, and I am willing to use it just to be able to advance.

Unfortunally - I don't know the cheat, but I suspect using the consol command for teleporting might work - but having never used that one I can't guide you closer.

But are you sure that all gargoyles point towards the door, and they all shoot the "right" - same - color of beam towards the door?
And is your game patched?
What happens when you pull the lever to fire the beam?

They are definitely all pointed right. Then when I pull the lever, the light shoots out at the door and it says "something must be wrong" or something like that. I know others have the problem, I think I have the latest patch.

Hmm - that statement "something must be wrong" appeared with me when I did not have the correct color beams shooting.
What color are your beams? As far as I recall the "hint" goes ->
lightning to lightning - meaning all of them must be blue
<-. It is not that I doubt you might be bugged in your game, however often situations are mearly overlooked.

If you continue to be bugged, you might want to look at the console command: dm_jumptopoint
However as I said in an earlier post, I've never had to use it myself, so I can't provide you with the coordinates you need. Sorry.

Does anyone know how to use the teleporter cheat, then?

I've never tried it so can't guarantee it will work but I found this while googling for it:
Press ~ during game play and type DebugMode 1. Move the pointer to your desired destination, then hold the Left Mouse Button and press [Keypad Plus].
I tried that and it works. The only thing is, I have to point over where I want to go, then hit "+" on the number pad, then left-click. Also, henchmen stay behind, but that can be fixed by saving and reloading. Thanks.

No problem - that's why we are here :D
Now go kill stuff

And thanks for posting how you did it, so it is here for others in case they need it.
