I just beat non-GOTY morrowind and was wondering if it is worth it to buy the GOTY. please post why you chose yes or no.

The expansions improve the journal a lot, plus add Mournhold and Solstheim to the game. I haven't got around to doing these yet, but I did do a little of Mournhold with my previous character and enjoyed the little I did. I intend to do both with my current character.

Well, it depends on if you feel Morrowind is worth more playthroughs or not.
I would not buy the expansions for the sake of the expansions, but I would not play the base-Morrowind without the expansions (if recommending a new player).
So if you liked Morrowind and could see yourself play through it a number of time, I'd say yes to getting the GOTY version. If not - then no.

The improvements to the journal are definitely worth Tribunal. A lot of people enjoy the added experiences, and there are always plenty of mods that require one addon, or both.

Most companion mods for example...
I like the expansions - the Tribunal quests are pretty fun...

Okay, sounds worth it, but can you continue with your old character or do you need to make a new one?

Tribunal and Bloodmoon are designed for mid to high level characters so you should be able to continue with your character. The only problem I could see is if you start adding more mods mid game.

There's always a potential for problems that way, whether you're running the addons, or not. I suggest using Wrye Mash to keep those difficulties to a minimum.

i thought that the mournhold and tribunal expansions were great just for the different location settings and the new weapons and armor. also i think it was better because, i have the xbox version and i can't mod. but it provided companions and also the choice to have armor made. and it definitly provided hours more of play time.
