what mods are there that are fake mods that are really viruses? or whole sites with all viruses?

Why are you looking for sites with viruses? If you are worried about getting them, I've never had any infected files which I've downloaded from the Planet Elder Scrolls site, or from Emma's mods. Most, if not all, of the mods people mention in the threads in this forum have been used by members so its pretty safe to assume they are virus free.

If in doubt, just scan the files with your virus software before opening them - I do this anyway with all downloaded files just out of habit.

My virus scanner said Suran Archery Tradehouse was a virus. DW sent me it, so I figured it was ok.

Sites with lots of feedback or modder's own websites which are reccommended (like Emmas) are largely clean...

PlanetElderScrolls and Elric's both check before issuing downloads, by using virus scans on all mod submissions.

If it makes you feel any better, I've never had a problem with viruses in any of my mods. Check the Morrowind Yellow Pages post on this forum- it's a sticky, so its at the very top- any of the mod sites listed there are probably safe. My personal suggestion for mods is the Morrowind Summit, (the official Elder Scrolls mod site). You'll find a link to it in the yellow pages sticky.

Also, if youre still worried about viruses, I'd suggest the same thing Mr. Sir did -- Make a habit of scanning all your files. Always.

Good point. It's always a good idea to have a virus checker on your computer, one that's updated regularly, and to use it to do a deep scan every few days at night (or whenever you're not at your computer). Deep scans include checking out all the files inside archives, so if you're concerned about viruses, that's the way to go. You could always spotcheck a particular file, too.
