Irenicus' ownage video question *Low-lvl Spoiler*

I'm sure you guys remember the video we look at when we exit Irenicus' dungeon. He's outside and wtfpwn thieves, and after kicks the asses of some Cowled Wizards.

Anyhow, I have a question regarding this one video...

How the hell can he casts spells one after another without waiting for the round to end ?

he's casting Power word Kills after Power word Kills, without waiting for the "round" to restart, like us mages. He transforms them into Stone, and 0.001 sec after he starts casting a flame arrow... Then a Power word: Kill, then a Flesh to Stone, then a Flame arrow.... etc.

How does he do this ? As a PC mage, between each spells you have to wait for the "round" to restart. It seems he's immune to that -_-

haha.

Well...he wouldn't be a true archmage epic villain if he didn't at least have the ability to bend a few rules, now would he? ; p

You can get a high level ability that grant you the same: Improved alacrity. It's a 9th level spell, and effectively erases the "waiting period". Very powerful when combined with items that lower your casting speed.

Combined with the Robe of Vecna, Improved Alacrity is VERY useful indeed.

He's scripted to cast those spells so he does. It is not him (as a character) casting the spells, it is the game engine force casting them as part of the cutscene.

This can be done with other scripts too and pretty much any combination of spells. Scripts can be written for use as Player Character scripts but it would take the choice of spells out of the players hands as the script would have to be predefined.

The easiest way to simulate this (though not quite as quickly) is as the posts above using Improved Alacrity/Robe of Vecna.

At first I thought the Robe of Vecna enabled this alone.

It wasn't true but the robe did help though :P

Cool robe.

Although I'm not quite sure what the point to this thread was, the question it poses appears to have been answered. Closed.
