On Telos there is a twi'lek woman who was sold into slavery after her boyfriend wagered her in a pazaak game. Is this at all legal? If it happened in Hutt space and the woman was the man's slave, then it would make sense, but Telos is Republic territory and she was a free woman. Plus, slavery is supposed to be illegal in the Republic.

dunno but dont tink it legal , but the republic cant help all the planets problems, at this time the republic havent got the time to recrute so many after the war, and the telos securety cant handle all the problems....

for 2000 credits she can become your slave

The point of the girl being given up in to slavery is that the guy got in to serious debt with the Hutts. So it's like getting in debt with the mafia - sure, its illegal, but its hardly worth your time telling the police.

As well as the fact that its repeatedly pressed on you that the Telos Security Force is really voerstrecthed and virtually powerless - why else wold they employ a suspected criminal - i.e. you - to run errands for them?
