Is there anywhere in the game you can go to buy furniture/decorate your house? I know there is probably a mod somewhere that will do thios, but I haven't had much success with mods in general! I only just bought my first house, in Anvil, and was just wondering.......

The Anvil House comes furnished. *cough* when you have dealt with the problems there, the whole look of the place will improve.
For the others, you will be told where to go for furnishings.

I was told that u could recieve Display cases in ur houses, similar to the ones everywhere in the game. I just bought the house($20 000) i forget which one, and i was wondering what is the thing that i buy to get display cases. Also i have a mod to my house which i can but swords in... and i never can, is that just me or is there a trick to it.

Without mods, there is only one house that you can buy display cases for (the one in Skingrad). There really aren't many options for any of them - you can buy furniture for a room, or you can leave it bare, but there's really no other "customization".

Yeah, there is a 'trick' to displaying your weapons and items. You have to be slow and careful and patient!

Use the Z key (if PC) to pick up the item and gently, in WALK mode, lift and manoeuvre it into position. Lower it carefully. Release the Z key. Use the Z key again to carefully position it in the precise place you want it, with little gentle movements.
It is tricker getting weapons into racks than it is to get items into display cases. But it CAN be done.
Placing books upright on shelves is the hardest. It needs more patience than I possess - but I HAVE done it!

I have found that it helps a LOT to grasp the item ABOVE the top - so that the hand is not actually TOUCHING the item. This helps to lift things in a fairly upright position.

you can't walk up to some one and hit upgrade house but you can buy pots and cups and such and place them around the house by dropping them and dragging them with the LB button. sorry if on the computer.

Thanks for your suggestions...would be nice to have a 'painting and decorating mod' where you could choose curtains/walls/furniture etc ! :p

On the PC side of things, there are furniture mods.
