The reward for completing the Daedric quest for Azura is Azura's Star, which is basically a re-usable grand soul gem. You begin the quest by finding Azura's shrine, which you can do by exploring the wilderness north of Cheydinhal, or Martin will point you in the right direction after you reach a certain point in the main questline.

My bad... never been a vampire so I didn't realize you had to give them away to get the cure - I just thought you needed something to trap a grand soul.

I'm on the PC Version.
I'm needing a grand total of TEN empty grand soul gems. This is for a Daedric quest.
I'm at Level 34 and have exhausted the supplies of the Mages Guild and the Arcane University. (I'm the ArchMage, BTW.)
I've also gone to several vendors who sell them....and their supplies do not seem to respawn.
Throughout the game, I've had numerous Grand Soul Gems and have used them before I discovered this particular quest.
So, at the moment, I've put TWO of them in safe keeping at one of my 7 houses and still need EIGHT more.
I checked out the thread above with the link to locations: I've gone to all of those at one time or another already.
Any help will be appreciated.

If I remember, merchandise comes back within a day or two, so you could try to sleep for a while.

?????
Belthan, you mentioned a 're-usable' grand soul gem, azura's star. what did you mean 're-usable'???

Once you use it, it still remains in your inventory. Meaning, Azura's star (Spoilers, highlight to read)-
will always remain in your inventory even if you fill it with a soul. It can only be filled with a single soul at any given time, but once that soul is used, Azura's star can be used again to grab another soul.

That was my understanding, too. But, so far, I've not seen any get replenished. I'll try waiting/sleeping more.

a question..
Sry to brake the point above me, but as you can read it I have a question about soul gems. I wonder if I could capture human(oid) souls. I read it that it would be 'necromanicy' --->(bad English, sry for misstyping), and I need a black soul gem for that. is this true?
next Q:
Is there a way to make an enchanted ARMOR that has more than one effect?(ingame of course)
I know , weapons can have several effects but how about armors?

I don't think you can make black soul gems. I tried to use the alter at the dark fissure and nothing happened so... You can soul trap a humanoid like a bandit and you won't need a black soul gem.

For your other question about the armour, you can enchant it with a filled soul gem in the Arch-mages room and in the the arcane university. I didn't try to see if you could put more then 7 enchantments on a weapons but i won't do that cause you gotta pay to enchant them aswell.

ummm....
1. I tried to capture bandits but azura's star wasnt enough...thats why I asked it...
2. I knew about the University (not the archmages tower tho .. never been there), but it seems I CANT enchant an ARMOR with more than ONE effect.
My Q was about armors and not weapons.
thanks anyway

Some humanoid souls like goblins, ogres, humanoid daedra, etc. will fit in regular soul gems (of the appropriate size, e.g. regular goblin soul will fit in common soul gem, but goblin warlord soul will only fit in grand soul gem). But for humans, argonians, khajiit, and elves (all kinds), you can only use a black soul gem.
Making black soul gems (spoilers)
The altars at Dark Fissure and Ft. Isturis definitely can be used to convert a grand soul gem into a black soul gem, but they only work one night of the week between sundown and midnight. On the "magic night", a light shines down from the sky on the altar, but it's a pretty subtle effect - hard to see if it's cloudy, even harder to see if it's raining. That night is different for every game, so you have to find it by trial and error. Go to the altar around 9:00 PM, try it, and if it doesn't work wait 24 hours. Repeat until you find out what night it is. Then you can always go back on that night.

Depends on what kind of enchantment you use. What kind of enchantment do you want?

Azura
I usually use Azura's star (with grand souls). It gives me the bigest charge but I can enchant only one effcet on one piece.
EXAMPLE:
I have a Blades Curiass. I go to enchant, and I choose SHIELD (for example).
I also choose Azuras star(/w grand soul).----> I get 10% shield effect (if I remember correctly), and then I CANT choose another effect,(so I cant have both a shield effect and a chameleon effect), not like Morrowind where I could.
so?
