Lost in Watcher's Keep

sigh...I got lost in Durlag's Tower and now I'm lost in Watcher's Keep. I am on the level with the portals and a crazy elf dude (whom I now can't seem to find) and I have gone tru what seems to be all the portals in the maze. I have collected 2 gem thingies and 2 demon hearts but every time I go thru a portal I end up in a room I have been to before. I'm gettin ready to go beat up on those Knights of the Vigil for getting me into this (I hate mazes).
**note to self: DO NOT SLEEP IN THE CHROMATIC DEMON ROOM ON LEVEL TWO (Devil Spawns aren't that tough but eventually those level drains take their toll on you).

lol! I just finished that section. My suggestion, check [url="http://www.gamebanshee.com/baldursgateii/walkthrough/watchers3.php"]The walkthrough[/url] here at GB, it's pretty thorough, and I find it practically invaluable for that damnable maze

uh...I'll try that... yeah. Apparently I have been to all of those areas except the last one but apparently I have also been walking in circles. The elf dude hasn't been appearing lately and I didn't find his stash with the rod. Hmmm...May need to go back and start from the beginning of the level...

Get yourself back to the first room (the one with the compass on the floor) and follow the directions in the walkthrough, then you'll be fine.
Spoiler re: Yakman - highlight below to read
If you cast Heal on Yakman, the crazy elf, he'll calm down and explain a few things. Plus, you'll get some XP points.

That level is not easy to map. When I first tried to do so, I assumed that when you came through a portal, going back through it would take back to where you were before. As you might have discovered, it doesn't work that way. When you enter one of the last few rooms, you have to go back through the portal you came from to get to the next room.

I spent ages in there today actually, most of the time traveling forward involved backtracking or going through the previous portal actually.

I took a little time away from the game and then went and whupped Kangaxx (got him in only 3 reloads!...my best attempt! I may have found a nifty non-cheat tip...or it could have been luck
). Now I am ready to try Watcher's Keep again and I may try your Walkthrough this time. I just talked to and healed Yakman and found his stash so now it is time to get down to business!
