Diskuss: New Necrospells:

Post by Dreez »

We all know that playing a "pure Necro" in NWN suxx more
then winning 10milion$ and waking up finding it was only a dream. So i sat down a few minutes to try and think of some new additions to the, atm, Crappy spellselection of Necromancers.
These following spells are what i came up with, please look them through and diskuss

- - - - - - - - - - - -

Lowlevelspells 1-5.

Lesser Negative Energyray: 1d6 Negative Dmg +1dmg par casterlvl (Max +20).

Lesser Weaken: Weakens the enemys STR with 1d4 and DEX by 1d4.

Summon lesser Undead: Summons Tyrandfog Zombie / Skeletal Mage (By choise).

Boneshards: Summons 1 flying shard that hits target for 1d4 dmg +1 additional per Casterlvl to max 1d4+10. Will also increase number of flying shards to +1 per 5th lvl of caster to a max of 10 shards. This makes the spell usefull not only in the beggining, but through the entire adventure.

Low/Midlevelspells:5-10.

Negative Energyray: 1d10 Negative damage +1dmg per casterlvl (max +20).

Weaken: Weakens the target by 1d6 STR +1d6DEX.

Lesser Lifedrain: Removes 1d4 of Con from Target.
Summon Undead: Summons Zombielord / Ghoulmage (by choise).

Heades wrath: This spell summon forth an areabased cloud which does 1d6+1 per lvl to max of
1d6+5 of Poison, Acid and cold. Lasts 5 rounds+1 per lvl to max of 10 rounds.

Mid/Highlvlspells:10-15.

Elemental Curse: Makes the targets within the area of effect to take additional +/5 damage of Cold,Fire.

Circle of exhaustion: Makes the targets within the area of effect to either save Vs fortitude or lose
1d6 CON +1 per casterlvl to max 1d6+5. If targets is successfull in save, target will still be slowed
for 5 rounds.

Summon Undead: Summons a d12 Boneguard / d6 Bonemage. Upon death, boneguard & bonemage will shatter
and cause areadamage comparable to 25% of base Hitpoints. So if a Boneguard were to die and shatter,
the damage would be around 30.

Bonelance: Summons a Bonelance that will hit its target for 3d10. Target must also make a save Vs reflex
or suffer lance to shatter on impact, causing 1d6+1 / lvl of extra damage.

Im no gamedeveloper, and i havent spent much time doing the maths on these spells, but i belive that
if Bioware would´ve given the Necromancer these spells, he would be alot more fun to play with.
Please diskuss each and every spell. Give feedback to which spells you like and not.

<3 Necromancers.

Bioware butchered the rules for DnD enough in order to make the game NWN. For the most part though, they used the spells from DnD for the video game. Looking over your list of spells you have written up, I think you should go back to your D2 necro. Some of those are just hideously broken for the game system. :p
"You can do whatever you want to me."
"Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?"
"So funny, kiss me funny boy!" / *Sprays mace* " I know, I know, bad for the ozone"
