Can't find key

I've killed everyone and everything in the Eldathyn Temple, but it took quite a while. Now I read in the "game guide" that I need Albion's Key to get thru the door to the next level. Things were popping pretty good and I have no idea as to when or where I snuffed Albion. I have searched every square inch of this level twice and cannot find the key. Does it disappear if you've popped to the prior level too many times to rest? What can I do short of restarting the game

Try going back to that level and hold the "alt" key down. Any "treasure" or loot on the floor will be highlighted in light blue. Sometimes given the 3d style graphics some loot is actually hidden by a portion of a wall. But using the highlight feature will make it visible. I noted that you said you had rested perhaps several times. Going to a different level won't by itself cause the key to disappear but treasure on the floor WILL disappear after a few days (don't know how much time). But it will eventually disappear. If that is the case you might need to redo that level unfortunately.

I think Albion's key is a quest item (e.g. you need it to go the next level); if so, the key won't disappear over time.

I cant find the Black Wolf Talisman anywhere(Black Wolf temple, level 2) and the alt key does nothing...

It should be in a container in the south west IIRC.
South of the place where you fought the skeletal mage is a big door to a room full of skeletons you can fight and coffins you can loot.(You have to do something in a similar room in the north before you can open this door.)
In the SW corner of this room is a door to the next room. Enter this room, go down the stairs and fight your way to a container in the north.
