I wonder if somebody write in his journal (in SoA or ToB) I have used it only to write shopping lists (for the real life).

I play the game in kind of a leisurely fashion, sometimes not playing for a week or so, so I have used the custom journal entries as a kind of reminder for things I need to do or mean to do. I know the regular journal sort of serves that same purpose, but I don't necessarily want to run through several journal entries to figure out where I was in my game plan after being away for awhile.
I don't really do any "in-character" journal entries, just kind of "haven't explored the whole docks area and need to go to the copper coronet for this or that" kind of entries.

I've used the journal quite extensively this time through the game as sort of a storytelling/role playing combo. It has been interesting to use the journal in this fashion. Other items I've placed in it are regarding conversations between two NPC's and their like or dislike for one another. I have used all of the NPC's this game and have rotated members frequently to see how they interact and have recorded much of that information.

Now THAT's a good idea, Ned, I may just borrow that one.

@Ned: Are you willing to send the saved ggame file so I can take a look at those interactions?

General, Raven, Laurelei,
Yeah, I'd be happy to send you the save game. I have completed every side quest and now left for spellhold (not very consistent with the role playing aspect, I really should have got Imoen sooner). However, if you want to look into a thread called 'different gaming experience' which was started by edwin about a month ago, it will sort of explain why I did all the side quests first. You see, there are no reloads in this game. If someone dies permanently, they are gone (so far, only Jan). Thus, the only times I have been saving are auto saves or journal entries which I average about one daily. I think I, as the protagonist have died three times and then I am forced to reload having to go back and do some things over. It makes one real careful. Anyway, blah, blah, blah, blah; send a private message with your email addresses if you are interested in having me send you the save file.
