Ok, i was goofing around and was able to destroy (or at least make the heart of akulakhan disappear) by hitting it with the sixth house bellhammer. This was way before I had the sunder and keening artifacts. Now I have them and can't seem to make akulakhan fall into rubble. Any suggestions? Am I SOL?

You have to use the weapons in a certain order, as explained by Vivec, or they will not work.

spoliers: you hit it with sunder once and then hit it with keening until it dies.
