its easy really in 1 game i just hacked him down to size but in another game i basicaly waiting him out acually if you are very desprate you can just have 1 guy that is immune to magic stuff and ust have him run in circles around the dragon while yur other guyz wait far away the place is huge then just hakc and slash otherwise use the same stradegy you use with any other dragon

I held Imoen back while my fighters dealt with his human form. When he shifted to his dragon form, I then had Imoen cast Time Stop, Improved Alacrity, Breach, Spell Trigger w/3 Lower Resistances, Greater Malison, Abi Dalzim's Horrid Wilting x2, and a bunch of magic missiles. When time returned to normal, Drakonis dropped.

Sojourner is on the right track. I waited until he was Dragon form, hit him with a spell trigger with 3xLower Resist., then a timestop, and bombarded him with every spell I had. It took me 10 tries to kill him and when I finally nailed him, I chugged 5 beers and danced a jig. He's a pain in my a$$!!!!
One other thing I did, as soon as he turned to Dragon form, I read a Wish scroll (I had chugged a potion of Wis. earlier) and lucked out and got an option for Improved alacrity and 2x length timestop. So, when I hit the timestop, I had it for a LOOOONG time. Hit him with a bunch of stuff at that point and I knew that I was going to take him. He still was able to heal himself when the timestop ended (not sure how he wasn't dead... maybe I am playing a harder difficulty than everyone else), but he was pretty much on the run.

I'm not sure if this is 'cheating' or not, but I hated being killed by him!

He kept casting invis, and following me around.
I sent all of my characters except my thief to deal with the human form (with summoned help) while my thief (my main character) laid a whole bunch of traps near the stairs, away from his view. Then when he turned to dragon, I lead him back towards the traps. I had Nalia cast Breach of course several times. He died, I cheered

@Sojourner: Dude, you're awswome! It worked! I changed it a bit though, this is what I did: Made a spell trigger with 3 lower resistances. Then I put fear protection and magic protection on minsc and sarevok, took 'em to human draconis and did greater whirlwinds for both. He didn't even get to summon stalkers before he died and turned into the dragon. Then, I cast timestop, improved alacrity, spell trigger, spell strike, breach magic, three abi-dalzims horrid wilting, and three magic missiles. When it went to normal time, he was dead.

You can pocket plane right after he changes form, rest, and then come back to finish him off.

This is good I think. Draconis was indeed a challenge unlike Firekraag or the others who had terrible AI and just stayed still too much.

I was quite impressed by the Draconis fight. It gave me quite a run for my money. I ended up killing him using a Fallen Planetar, Poolon (Summoned Lion) some lower resistence spells, and two Dragons breaths and a lot of hack and slash and bash with my PC, and Korgan.

Maybe its just me, but none of my fighters ever actually hit the dragons. They just keep swinging and I guess missing because it doesnt do any damage and it doesn't say the weapon is inneffective or anything. What about you guys?

i thought he was pretty hard @ first, but i just wasn't fighting him rite... after a while i just had edwin cast time stop and then dragon's breath him 3 times in the very beginning of the battle (when he's a dragon of course, the 1st fight isn't that hard, just breach him and kick his ass). Anyway, after the 3 db's, he was badly injured and i just cast pierce shield on him and had my fighters hack him 2 death...

Draconis was for me the hardest fight in the game. However, I refuse to acknowledge dragon intelligence of any kind. I mean why don't they just close ranks ? I mean, how many people could legitamately take on the green dragon guardian, abazigal, draconis and an army of salamnders ?
Going through Sendai's Enclave, it was just ridiculous how she kept sending wave after wave. And then she sent 3 gddamn mind flayers at me in the end ? What the heck is this ? IDIOTS ! These are Bhaal's children ? They couldn't figure a way out a paper bag much less conquer the world. They would likely be stopped dead in their tracks if someone gave them a rubiks cube.

Its really interesting how some fights re hard to someone to finish and yet so simple to others players[its depends with wich clas u play and what tactic u use]
For me as solo sorceror that was easiest batlle in game .I used i planetar and 2 mordekainen sword to kill him in human shape and then when he transform to dragon just 1 breach time stop and shapechange to midflayer and he was death in matters of seconds
But i have a hard time with melisan now i died caple of times till know and dont know how to beat her yet.If i summon mordk sword or somethink like that she kill him with deaths spell and eaven planetar is not of good use to me.And it seems that ***** was imune to time stop so i figure that some heavy days re upon me

Try using smite when he's near death in human form, position yourself so you'll knock him into the right hand corner. He wont move once he turns into a dragon, pretty easy from there. Make sure you're using true sight, also.

You just need one seventh-level spell: project image.
Equip your mage with time-stop scrolls, the spellstrike wand and maybe some horrid wilting scrolls. (No need to make special sequencers for this.) Then send someone to distract the dragon, cast the fist time-stop, shoot two peirce magics from the wand and start casting a second time-stop before the first runs out. It should pick up almost immediately after the first runs out. Then: one more peirce magic, and then it's all horrid wiltings. But never cast more than two spells before beginnig the next time-stop.
My projected image hung around long enough after the fight to make a fallen planetar for free, who healed any wounds. This is quite a lot of work done, and all it cost me was one 7th level spell.

i havent had very many problems at all with my "adverse" party i used the idea of good proficenes owns and well it does. hell i dont even cast many spells at all and i can kick that games ass. i just get people that can make 5 proficenes. i got like korgan seravok and others that have good weapons its amazing how fast you take down everything when you basicaly hit every time even without hardly any spells
