Ok, my party consists of my PC a lvl 25 Ranger, Minsc, Anomen, Jaheira, Nalia and Imoen, all in the mid 20's.

I have no problem beating him as a human, but when he changes into a Dragon all hell breaks loose. I try to buff up and cast debuffs on him but the best i have done so far is get him to "injured" before he kills my PC in one fell swoop. Kinda annoying because I cant go back and see what he did to kill my guy that quickly. Please, help me out here I am really tired of this pompus dragon.

I've always found Draconis pretty vulnerable to the typical chain contingency/Horrid Wilting x3 bomb. Imoen and Nalia can both stop time to blast him or at least dump his protections with remove magic and breach. You can have them use spell trigger-lower resistance x3 too. Summon Planetars or Devas if you want. Have the Rangers use greater whirlwinds when they close in. If they start to take damage, have Anomen ready with the rod of resurrection to heal them. If you get him down to around badly injured or near death but it still seems dicey, you can power word kill to finish him off. It's not a particularly tricky fight - you just have to break out the most brute force you can muster.

James Dean, if you have an inquisitor (the paladin who can dispell and true sight) it is an easy task. Otherwise I recommend you to hold your mages back, whack him as soon as he appears with lower resistance spells. Then he disappears - protect your mages, when he comes back atack with everything you've got that damages from your casters and whirlwinds from your tanks.

I have died only once against him with this kind of technique, and it was on insane levels ;)

Edit - Draconis is the entrance one. Abazigal is another dragon, right?

Thanks for all the help. I beat him after two more tries only loosing one person too. Abizaigal was easy in comparison.

Just for future reference: there's an excellent search button you can use to find posts about Draconis or whoever. Many strategies have been discussed over the years - especially about Draconis.
In addition, there's a strategy guide here at GameBanshee which offers a lot of tips about difficult battles too.
Congrats on beating Draconis; to me he's always the biggest pain in ToB.

Since you're close to the end, I'd recommend trying out the Improved Abazigal in the Ascension mod. It's one of the best modded improved fights out there, making that encounter harder (and more fun) without it just being a matter of figuring out the modders irritating (but also generally recommended) tactical complications. Suffice it to say, you'll look back fondly at that time when you were worried about little Draconis out there all alone.

You have Jahaeira in the party and you dont have nature's beauty loaded up?......

load up on Lower Resistences for mages using sequencer/contingencies. Attract him with other fighters. Cast LR *3-4. Jahaeira - with stone skin on - steps right up and casts nature's beauty. Battle is over. Sling and bow him to death.

Note that there is no saving throws against Nature's beauty.

I've once managed to turn that dumb dragon into a squirrel :p using polymorph other + LR + Melison(whatever you spell it). But that dude kept on blowing his breath on me-couldn't get within melee range.
