I want to let only Jaheira in my group but how can I can get rid of Khalid? I tried to take him to someone's house and left him there but he take Jaheira with him.

Can help anyone? Thanks

The simple answer is send him into a fight by himself and let him get killed.
Won't affect the story line, you just have to live with the fact you killed him...ah well.

If you are left with him as a dead character on the right of the screen, In that he didn't get completely torn apart...just reform party which will remove him this time for you.

Just send him to a house you will never enter again, then remove him from the party. He cannot leave the house by himself, so that he can't come to take Jaheira with him.
Alternatively, you can cast Fresh to Stone spell on him, then remove him from the party.

Just to add to that... he will only book with Jaheira if he can walk up and start a dialogue with you after you dismiss him. Thus, sending him into a house that you'll never enter again, and *then* dismissing him, will keep him from initiating that dialogue.

A better solution than having him get smoked, imho. Continuity will be somewhat better kept in line with BG2, if that matters to you.

Poor Khalid.

I think Khalid and Minsc have the best personalities in BGI along with Kagain... but thats just me.

You could also just kill him.

It's not just Khalid's personality... he can become a very powerful character!

He's the only single-classed Fighter in the game, and you have a lot of control over his proficiencies. Currently, I'm building him towards an Axe-Fighter, so he can be a frontline tank with a shield.

I made Khalid my archer and he made a great archer! All the slots ge got went straight into bows and I gave him the Bracers of Archery or whatever that stupid Dart-Slinger had. Whenever I tried to make a tank out of him he seemed to need baby-sitted too often...no matter what his AC was.

Well, anyways, the only single-classed Fighter with a Good alignment (SharTeel & Kagain).

Jahiera & Khalid seem an unlikely couple to me.

(Actually, Jahiera & Anybody seem an unlikely couple. Yet I did romance her in BG2, so what do I know. I had to romance *somebody* in my BG2 group!)

Bioware Ironic Humor: let's pair Jahiera with someone... of course he'll have to be wimpy and submissive to tolerate her... and we'll make this dude, umm... the game's only good-aligned single-classed Fighter!

(Truthfully, I was shocked and bummed when I discovered Khalid in BG2. Drawing a reaction like that could only be the result of a terrific character. And Khalid kicked alot of butt, when he wasn't turning yellow and yelling "Better part of valor". RIP.)

Khalid has the script of a wimp - gets into a fight and wants to run away. either that or dies rather easily.

it's kinder to send him on an errand and remove him from your party when he's inside somebody's closet.

the rangers Minsc and ?Korvan are better than Khalid IMO.

Khalid has always been a good tank for me. I'v also heard that he can be an excellent archer. I think I'll try that next time I play.

I rarely use Khalid he just gets under my skin what can I say. But as the only good aligned pure fighter he can be very powerful. Give him ***In Long Sword and a potion of strength armor him up and he is as good a tank as any except perhaps Kaigan with his 20 Constitution. Kahlid has good dexterity (17 I think) and good constitution (16 I think) But his strength is not overwelming for a fighter so what thats what strength potions are made for. Kagain is my favorite tank and he needs the guantlets of dexterity and stregth potions to really woop up on the badies. But I love his ability to absorb damage and then just rest without healing him and he regenerates it all.

So really the only reason I avoid Khalid is his personality which is totaly a personal preferance. Really there are no useless NPC's in this game and most are quite powerful when maxed out.

Personally I've never had a problem with Khalid being a fighter and he has never bailed out on a fight.

"....is the better part of valor" yellow circle.... yeah, he has bailed out on me a couple of times. I thought it was quite funny. Garrick does it too "Brave Sir Garrick ran away..." I find them funny and it has saved them a couple of times.

I just discovered an easy way to get rid of Khalid without getting rid of Jaheira. Just go the Friendly Arm Inn (AR2301) after you have finished the Nashkel Mines and dismiss him from your party. Due to the way the script for that area works, he will disappear. Same with Jaheira. As I said, I just discovered it, and I find it a little hard to believe, so if you want to test it yourself, I'd like to see your results.

So the script removes him before he can initiate the dialogue that removes Jaheira? Brilliant!

I would think you would have to send him across the room just to be sure that he didn't accidentally start the dialogue. Or even better, lock him in an upper room and don't visit that room until after you solve Nashkel. Or does the script only remove him from the game if he is on the ground floor?

Actually the problem I have with Khalid is that he is unreliable in early fights which is when you need him most. My first game ever I snuck into the Friendly Arm without fighting the assassin outside (after having my butt handed to me several times trying to fight him with just Imoen). Went in to get the reinforcements that Gorian told me about. Came back out to settle the matter and my "guardian" turned tail and ran back inside! I never really forgave him for that so I usually drop him as quickly as possible if I bother to get him and Jaheira at all. Usually I go to Nashkel first and only come to the FA in chapter 3.

I like Khalid, he's one of the few trueclass fighters you get in the game and his stats aren't really bad. and he IS funny

Yup, take all his gear off and send him to battle an ogre or something by himself I usually do that with Jaheira though.
