For some reason my Wizard spells are diabled. They are all blackened. I figured it was just part of the game, I was waiting for them to be turned on, I thought this because I saw a message that said all your wizard spells have been turned off, but now I am begining to think it is operator error. Thankfully my priest spells are fully operative, yet I can not seem to defeat those three nasty trolls in the d'arnise keep. Which is the other item. I can not defeat those three trolls, I have tried many avenues, including one where I walked away after I talked to them and never actually fought them. my journal was updated about a "stronger" I hope it is not that personal body gard guy. Beacause I killed him. Can any one help me. Thank you for all that can.

Something a bit like this happened to me once, quite a funny story IIRC. After a long battle, someof my companions died. Aerie cast all of her raise deads, but still one person was dead, so I got Jaheira, freshly raised herself, to cast Harper's Call, completely forgetting that she had but one HP after being raised, and the Call removes 8 HP. She promptly died again.
Anyway, the point is that after this Jaheira's spell icon was greyed out. I couldn't figure out why until I looked at her priest book, and found all the spells gone. If you commit suicide, it would seem that all your spells are erased.
Otherwise, you should make sure you are wearing no armour. Or have you cast Tenser's Transformation? That also disables your wizard spells.
Killing TorGal is not too hard - the way I always did it is by sending one person in, triggering the attack, and drawing the trolls over to the door while you fire as many Cloudkills as possible just inside. When you get outside, close the door and wait for the trolls to be severely weakened. Or you could go away and get more XP and items, then come back later. The "Stronger" that TorGal talks about is not Glaicas, the fighter from upstairs, but is most likely Isaea Roenall. Don't worry about it.

Methinks I shouldn't have spent all that time answering. Oh well...

Thank you for the advice, and the anecdote.

TorGal is easy. One well-placed Web gets him and his cronies at the edge, leaving you free to clobber them while helpless. Takes good aim, though.
