Another day passes 'sigh' and i realise from the moment i go on to google and type in fallout 3 there is no frikin new news about it, no clips and no nothing...god almighty i got so bored i applyed to bethesda for a script job which it clearly stated would be involved in fallout 3 with a fake identity (only being 17 sitting my a levels) of course hoping that if theyd accept me i might get a glimpse at something more worth while than a <snip: profanity - Xandax> POSTER pinned up at E3 not fit to wipe my dog's ass with.
Really if u read this you people at beth you better be hurrying it up beacuse you can only test peoples patience to a certain degree, i mean look there are no good games out...nothing, ziltch not <snip: profanity - Xandax> all, i am tired of playing fallout 1 and two as now i know what people are going to say before they say it, i am tired of playing deus ex over and one more thing! you better not screw fallout 3 by creating a game with the 'next gen graphics' but some <snip: profanity - Xandax> plot line and some empty game experience that wont live up to the original. And i know your going to say oh its hard to live up to the original but you kno what, i dont give a rats ass everyone including my self have been waiting on this game for god knows how long, when you bought the license you didnt just buy a game license you also took up a hefty burden which is owed to all the fans of the fallout series to see this made into a great game.
Also put dog meat into the game i had him from fallout 1 and 2 start right to the end! lol

Welcome to the forums, murads.
I have a few words of advice. If you're sick about replaying Fallout 1&2 and Deus Ex like what you've mentioned, then stop playing them and get another game to play.
Another thing, can you please be patient? Ranting like that isn't going to get you anywhere. Bethseda have very good reasons why they're not willing to disclose any information regarding the development of Fallout 3. Just wait. Sooner or later, they (Bethseda) will reveal some tidbits about Fallout 3.

Patience, Padawan
I, for one, would rather wait, chewing my nails, for Fallout 3 to hit shelves with not even the slightest hint about it, until 2009 (if neccessary), and be assured of getting an excellent, well-tested, well thought-out game, than get Fallout 3 in '07 and have to patch it 9 times (Blizzard?) just to see it get more screwed up.
Have patience, and faith in our excellent dev team at Bethesda. They haven't let us down yet.

OP you're the same dude who cries about 'gimme now' and will cry later 'omfg - unplayable!' because you had to patch it 19x to get to the main screen. Calm down and stop making corny threats, F03 will come out when Beth says its ready, and not cause you're tired of playing 10yr old video games.<flame removed. Please do not get personal - Xandax>

...get Fallout 3 in '07 and have to patch it 9 times (Blizzard?)...
OMG! LOL! So true! LOL!
I had no clue till just a few minutes ago that FO3 was made by Beth. I really can't wait now. Mmmm...ES3.
I might have to get FO 1 & 2 so that I'm not lost within the story.
Murads, you can go play Morrowind.

Hhmmm... You can't accuse Blizzard of delivering unfinished products. True, they bring out a lot of patches, but those are for the biggest part focused on balance issues/content. A significant amount of their "latest" games is played on a semi-permanent multiplayer basis. That means that there's near-constant interaction and thus new problems may arise. No amount of playtesting can avoid that.
My definition of an "excellent dev team that hasn't let me down yet" isn't one that dumbs down its games so it turns into a near-arcade game.

Bethsoft & FO3
While I agree with murad, I'm still more patient.
As I first heard about Bethsoft's licence buy FO3 I know, that it will take more then 2 years to finish the project. Also, bethsoft is not better then blizzard was.
Those who played Daggerfall should know the endless patches of Bethsoft.
finaly, we all fans want FO3 and ready to buy it. But the most important thing is that (even if published in 2009) the game should be problemless, stay focus on the original story style and NOT something like ES series. I've played ES too and liked it but this was a different game. Fallout is a much better and more intriguing game without a story line...
P.S.: I too still play FO1&2 with much joy... You should too. (played them round 30 times or more.

Can't say that I specifically want and will buy Fallout 3 despite being huge fans of Fallout 1 and 2 and also have Fallout Tactics.
Mostly because it looks to be a dumped down shooter masked as RPG based on the videos so far, and well basically - because I do not really trust Bethesda with making quality games.
So I'll look for reviews from sites I trust and people I "know" before deciding.
Simply because they call a game Fallout doesn't make it Fallout, and does not mean all fans will run out and buy it.

I had been looking forward to Fallout 3, having enjoyed the first 2 in the series. But, from looking at the trailers, it simply looks like Oblivion with guns. Lots of combat with scant RPG elements thrown in. I disliked intensely Mass Effect for the same reasons. I truly doubt that I will be buying the new Fallout. If I wanted combat with strategy I would play an RTS, if I wanted a shooter I'd play an FPS. I want an RPG, and apparently, no one is making anything of the sort these days. They are making only "action RPG's" with extreme emphasis on the "action"!
Had hopes for Dragon Age, but don't like the look of that game at all.

these fears have we all. I hardly believe it will different from ES. as we all say fallout is one of the best RPG ever, wich can let you do as you want.
I live in Turkey, and such games comes 1-2 months after the publishing in the US or Europe, so I'll have the time to examine forums like this about the game.
It would be realy a shame if the game is turned to a shooting monster crap...

this game will not be a shooter.
we know this for a fact.
every aspect of your character will be determined by stats and skills.whether your shooting in RT or not.
we know this as a fact
FO3 will stay very true to the original games, minus the view and combat system. (thank god)
we know this as a fact.
FO3 will greatly improve the AI. have a story then morphs and changes as your character does. it will definitely be an improvent compaired to there oblivion title.
instead of stressing over a game you have no possibility of making them change why don't you just chill and see how you like it.

For me, the combat system was a big part of what Fallout was. I'm one of those people that actually like turnbased combat.
I've seen the trailers, and the gameplay resembled a shooter a lot.
I know this for fact.
So far, I haven't seen a thing that makes me less sceptic of Fallout 3. I shudder at the thought of the nuclear catapult. (Not that it isn't original or so, but it's an idiotic concept. I hope it's a joke weapon, like the Super Soaker from Tactics.)

have you read any previews on the 30 min hands on demo?
they all have one thingin common. real time combat is incredibly difficult.
the game is ment to be played with vats, its a main game mechanic not an optional choice for those who like turn based.
people who are looking for a shoot-em-up fallout experience will be disappointed.
and as for the Fatman, devs have said multiple times that you cant just wander the whole game with that weapon. you will be limited to a few shots in the whole game.
im predicting you get about 5 shots and then you can never use it again (they said it was a prototype weapon, that leads me to believe there is only one fatman in the game)

As well as all other people looking for a *Fallout* experience.

i would think the classically awesome games known as fallout 1&2 was more then an isometric view and turn based combat.
pokemon had those game mechanics as well. i dont remember it being as good as fallout.

But I remember BGII having it, and that was just as good. (I know, this comment scores 0/10 on a relevance scale.)
Still, for me at least, the viewpoint determines a sizeable part of the gameplay.

i understand your point. but its a little presumptuous to say just because they changed the view and combat doesn't make it automatically not fallout.
i mean look at what change did for Grand theft auto 3.

And look at what it did for Ultima IX.
We can go on and on. I agree that 1st/3rd Person or Isometric does not necessarily say something about the game. I still prefer isometric.
I'm much more concerned about the change in combat system. From what I've read, they've also been cutting in the SPECIAL rules. Those two things are definitly hinge-points of Fallout. It's what makes Tactics still a Fallout game for me, while Brotherhood of Steel (PS2/Xbox) isn't for me.

and oblivion had much better AI then most other RPGs. especially since its in a FPP.
and in regards to the story and character involvement. Oblivion doesn't have a karma system. Oblivion does have a level cap of 20. Oblivion does cut off quests to the player as they progress through the game and make in game choices.
this is not oblivion. its fallout. (and i'm actually playing fallout 1 & 2 now, lets just say its not known for its brilliant AI)
