I wanted to start playing ID1 again, but when i click the id1 icon, all the movies show and i get to the main screen, but my mouse click just won't react! I can move the mouse, the game isn't frozen, but i can't stop the movies or click create party or anything else. I have original ID1, not HOW. I tried reinstalling the game but the problem remains. Help please!

What kind of mouse do you have? Optical? Wireless?
It seems that wireless mouses, especially from Logitech, tend to behave strangely with older games, just like IWD1. Have you tried to update your mouse drivers?

I have an A4 Tech Optical Non-Wireless mouse. I haven't yet tried updating the drivers, but i have tried to play the game with another mouse (Gygatech Optical Non-Wireless) and it still doesn't work. Dang.

I've got it! Updating the drivers hasn't changed anything, but I got really upset when I realized that, so I started clicking mouse and hitting the ESCAPE key. The moment it clicked inside my head that keyboard doesn't work either (since it doesn't stop the intro movies) I wanted to go and post that keyboard doesn't work either, and then a strange thing happened. A box poped-up by my spyware program "SpyCatcher Express 2006" saying something about "repetitive key-pressing" and then I thought : "Could this mofo be causin' the problem?" I turned it off and bam: I can play Icewind Dale.
That program was an annoyance anyway, I deleted it immediately. It does stop spyware, but it also stopped some programs and installations, so I recommend NOT installing it.
...And now, in this cold evening, while I'm sitting at my computer desk in my warm room with lights-off, I can finally get back to the frost valleys of Icewind Dale, and listen to the soothing music of Easthaven and Kuldahar. Ah the Icewind Dale nostalgia...
