I just started playing this game this week, and I have several unidentified items, but I cannot figure out how to identify them. Any help here would be great.
Oh and yes, I have checked the book, and cannot find anything about it.

You need a mage enchenter. Like the Wise Woman trader in the out reaches of Stonebridge. Divination school has the devine magic spell that can also identify items.

Let Ristezze do the work.
Ristezze can identify items, too. I didn't try it with other merchants, but I think they can also do it.
Just steal Ristezze's key for the door to his back room. You have access to a chest containing his stock now. In order to let Ristezze identify your items, you'll have to sell the unidentified items to Ristezze and get the identified items out of the chest. You don't have to pay for the identification anymore; you even get some gold in return.

You can do this with ABSOLUTELY every merchant that exists in the world of Arcanum. If you sell an enchanted item to anyone, it automatically gets identified.
