How to kill specter in Seer Augustus Sanctum?

I've got the candles placed, but can't seem to do any damage to this beastie. I've tried bow, sword, scrolls. What hurts this thing?

are you sure you have the candles (all four of them) placed? Sword, bow, AND magic should work, but only if all four of the candles are in place.

Press Shift to take things that flow around him then you can defeat him much easy.

i just get a medium shield to block his nether spells and slowly approach him while pressing block until i got close enough to hit him with my wooden staff.
ya hafta wait until he does his nether claw strike attack and then hit him with your weapon. the "nether claw strike" is where nether energy surrounds his hands and swipes at u once, twice, or three times. just block until hes done swiping at u and then unblock and atack.

a crystal of time will make this a little easier too
