Trouble using forge/city core

Hi
I'm in the basement of the merchant to make custom weapons. I'm told to put the ingredients on the forge but they won't go on. I do have the ingredients need. Any tips?

Sorry i myself never understood that forge thing.

Open the forge as if its a container then place items in it just like you would if you were placing them in a container. Once you have placed the correct items in the forge, go back to the weapons smith and ask him to make you something and he'll do it.
Edit: Also, check you are trying to place them on the correct forge by pressing TAB to highlight the forge that opens like a container
