"Latest post" -problems...

Okay, this isn't actually serious problem, but annoying one IMO.
I noticed that there has been someone posting threads against the rules this morning, and those threads have been deleted. Now, in the forum's main page, those threads are still visible in "Latest post" section.
Is there any way to remove such threads/post from that list which have been deleted from the forum also? As you can see in the pic from link, it looks rather bad that there is sex ad thread in every subforum. I personally would consider several times before joining such forum which has such threads in almost every sub-forum and even as latest post, even though such threads doesn't exists anymore...

EDIT: Sorry, the pic seems to be download -form. I try to get it to such that you don't need to download it...

It happens when threads get "purged", meaning mass deleting threads from one specific poster.
I do not know if there is any way around it, if using the purge function.

I don't see the "ghosting" threads, myself. I just hit New Posts, and see those that remain--not the purged stuff.
But given a choice of hand-removing 20+ porn links or purging them all at once and still seeing the ghosts, I'm afraid the purge system seems most time-productive.

Okay, I understand your point.
Although, it's not when I click the New Posts -link, but when I visit the forum first time, and thus I see in front page every latest post...

I find the ghosted threads still appear for me as well...
Kipi makes a good point. IMO.. those titles do look pretty bad, and if I were a prospective member who didn't know anything about GB or what had actually happened to those threads.. I'd probably be deterred from posting as well.
However.. knowing what is involved in just a single thread/post removal, I also appreciate that deleting 20 some threads would indeed be very time consuming.

I just did as you did, Kipi, and saw them, too. I can also see the point that they really don't give a very good image of GameBanshee. I'll write Buck to see if there's anyway we can create a control for the "show latest post" entries in each forum.

I've taken care of it the "hard" way. They should be removed now - or rather - they are for me so I hope they are for all.

I noticed them before work this morning myself. I was going to notify one of you mods, but when I entered the actual forums, the threads were gone so I didn't say anything given I was in a rush. Kipi made the point I was planning on making myself given I had the time to do so though. I know my Admin tools on hosted forums doesn't allow anything like mass deleting posts to be done, so that's never going to be a problem I do not think. That is odd the coding of the mass deletion function does not delete all instances of the threads however.

The only way I know of to update the latest post is to either a) create a new post that will take its place, or b) run a maintenance script from the admin panel. I've ran the script this time (since I'm the only one with access to it), but I'll check to see if there's any other way to remove them when I'm not available.

Yep, they've gone for me as well.
I was dead impressed at how fast you removed the threads, but I didn't like the Latest Post header still being there, either.
I was surprised they didn't just vanish when you deleted the threads. Always vanishes when I delete a thread on the site I mod. But it's a different system you have here.

Thank you all, especially Fable, Buck and Xandax.
