hi all,

was just wondering if 1600 charge from a grand soul is the largest you can get, and if so how much charge does a human soul give? can a filled black soul gem be used the same as a filled grand soul, and if so whats the point of going to the trouble of making black soul gems? (apart from requiring to do so in one of the daedric quests that is... where abouts do i find a necromancer alter?? are they located in many places on the map?). when enchanting is always best to use a grand soul for all enchantments, as i read somewhere that somtimes you can 'waste' a grand soul on small enchantments - how is this a waste? i have azuras which is really helpful i believe although i have progressed rather far in the game (lv32) am yet to enchant anything.. thanks.

ps do empty grand souls respawn in their locations over time?

Humans & grand souls are the highest you can get and are the same value, 1600 charge.

Humans are a LOT easier to find & kill than creatures with grand souls.

Spoiler: Fort Istirus (west of Skingrad) and Dark Fissure (southeast of Cheydinhal) for sure, maybe a couple others.

It would be a waste to use a grand soul to enchant an item for non-variable effects like water breathing, nighteye, etc. A petty soul will work just as well for that type of thing. For variable effects, though, more is almost always better.

None that I've ever found.
