The best way to deal with this quest is to betray J'Nah when you go to visit the dragon. He'll give you an item that will help greatly in the fight..
Which class are you playing btw?

Personally, I find it easiest to "cheat". Lure her out into the corridor, blast her with Tymofarrar's potion and lay into her with everything you've got. You can use the same technique with her minions and whack them one at a time.

How much cash do you have? On my last play through I found it tough with my necromancer/pale master simply due to the low number of spells available and how low level they were so I did all other areas first then saved her for last, selling any items I didn't desperately need and used the cash to purchase as many decent scrolls as possible. If you can use the potion/powder on her then focus on her with the highest level spells/scrolls you can then she should go down pretty fast - its usually her minions that I struggle most with so I use run away tactics with summons/henchman as a barricade between me and them where possible. Its still pretty tough though and may take several attempts (especially if you play on the hardest setting).
Another trick is to make a proper save at the start of the battle and quick save when you have achieved something, such as killing J'Nah or several minions so you don't have to keep going back to the start of the battle if you mess it up or die due to a failed save.

it's been a while but I remember using the potion from the dragon on her and then retreating to the back ofthe room letting the gnolls attrack j'nah and her companions. Then I shot her with my longbow from my position in the back of the room - I was a ranger as well
By the way, be sure to get the valiantheart bow from the elf ranger after killing the white stag.
