Depends on what you like considering those games are two completely different games. They aren't the same game genre, or even just the same genre in general.

how do you know that if you haven't played them. As far as I'm concerned, I thought oblivion was gonna be great and it turned up Garbage, the same can happen with Gears of War.

find some friends who have those games so you can test them out first and then choose
