*SPOILERS* storing items

When I get to Duncan's inn in Neverwinter he said I could store any equipment in the inn. However, there are no chests or anything to put items in. Is it simply a case of leaving my gear on the floor? Seems a bit messy to me...
Sorry if this topic has already been dealt with.

Early in Act II, a couple chests will appear in the inn. Later in Act II, you'll discover a better place for storing things. So until then, just use your companions for storage.
It does seem strange that Obsidian didn't put a chest in your room at the inn.

Yeah, it is weird. I tried to store my booty in the Sunken Flagon workbenches and kept checking on it, just in case. The stuff stayed in there for awhile (I almost relaxed but kept checking, smart me); when I returned with Shandra from her burn down farm, my stuff disappered.

I was lucky to have a recent save.
So, do not stash your hard earned loot in these workbenches.

Same thing happened to me and I had a recent save as well.
I wonder does anything happen at Fort Locke, as it does at the Flagon?
If not the Fort would be a good place in Chapt 1, as it has 2 chest and all 3 craft tables?
Anyone played through Chap 1 and Chap 2 at least till you find a better place in Chap 2, does anything happen at Fort Locke?
Thanks.

I was puzzled about that, too.

I just store it with the companions or sell it.
Trouble is, I'm not very good at figuring out DnD, so I depend on prices to tell me how useful an item might be - but that doesn't always work: an expensive item might be of less value, protectionwise, than an exensive one. I get confused.

I think I sometimes hang onto stuff I should sell, and sell stuff I should keep. It would be nice to store stuff somewhere until I figure it out...

When to retrieve your loot from the Sunken Flagon:
Before you go talk to Sasha Jerro. After this the game switches the inn with a battle map.
Before you get called to Neverwinter to be knighted. After this you cannot access the docks anymore.
Fort Locke: Retrieve items the moment you get the keep. You won't be able to access the place soon after.
