Alignment

I'm playing NWN as a druid. I started out as Lawful Neutral, but somewhere along the way manged to change to Lawful Good, and can no longer increase my level as a druid. From what I've read and seen, it's very difficult to change to or maintain a neutral alignment through your actions. NWN2 has a cheat code that allows you to change your alignment; is there one of these for NWN1?? I'd really like to change before my next level up.

im playing as a druid/shifter. in the origonal game i went with true neutral so as not to ever go away from the neutral alignment. the problem im seeing in the expansions is that now i can waver towards lawful or chaotic so i need to do more good and evil deeds to maintain the neutral behavoir. to answer your question though to get back to neutral you will need to do some evil acts to bring yourself back down, if you dont want to cheat.

I've tried and it doesn't seem to help so at this point I don't mind cheating. And I'm not using the expansion.

I've never done this myself (rarely fiddled with these things), but I recall there was a script named ga_alignment which could be run to change modify alignment. AFAIK it takes 2 numbers as input (that is ga_alignment(X,Y)), to indicate moving some set amount to each of the 4 "directions.
However, I've never used it before, but perhaps somebody else has.

But with this information, it should be easier for you to either test your way forward, or google your way.
Hope this helps you in the right direction.

No such luck.
I did spend a significant amount of time Googling, and I managed to come across a very similar code: rs ga_alignment(ge,lc), where ge is the number for good vs. evil and lc is lawful vs. chaotic. This code, however, only works in NWN2. I'm looking for the original NWN counterpart, and had no success in a number of searches.

Hmm - must have remembered wrong.
It might be a DM tool I'm thinking off then, but I never did DM anything in NwN, so I do not know which script is behind.

What about using a character editor (I belive some exists, but it's been ages since I've done much of anything in NwN) - could be possible that way.

That's possible. I'm on a Mac though; do you know of any that I can run? I know Diablo 2 has an HTML editor that I can run.

Sorry no. I never used a character editor for NwN myself, but I know at least one existed ...

Each town people you can speak to has some special dialog were you ask them if they are alone, if they want protection, ... You can then extort them some money, and your alignment will shift several points to evil.
Do that to all the villagers you encounter and you will soon go back to Neutral.

I did it! Finally. Although now everyone hates me...so around what score do I have to stay in order to remain neutral?

I might be wrong, but I think neutral is between about 35% and 65%
