Are you having trouble instaling the mod, or when you try to run it is that where the problem comes up? A lot of mods when you run them pop up a message about invalid files and so forth, but I usually just go ahead and run it anyway. I think an issue is the date of the mod vs the date of the MW install or something similar. There is a way to clean it up so the message doesn't pop up when you run MW, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. For the most part though, the message really doesn't stop the mod from running, it's just a warning based on the dates I believe. Unless you have a mod that requires an expansion pack or another mod that you don't have however. I get the same message everytime I run MW with my mods, and it never causes problems with the actual game play by simply clicking continue running executable.

I used it years ago, and never encountered a problem. What is the exact message you receive?

Then I suspect you had a faulty download. What site did you download it from?

How did you extract the mod? I've always found that manual extraction is *much* better and *much* easier..

if you run a search through our MW data base with the key words "mod install" you should find some threads that will be helpful ;)

How much RAM do you have?

Thanks. Just thought if you had insufficient memory, your attempts to run mods could be providing the same symptoms as though they were improperly installed. But it sounds as though you have enough RAM.

So, time for the big guns.

Thread Whisperer's Illustrated Installation Guide

Korana's Installation Guide

These are three of the best installation guides I know of. Take your pick, and read at least one thoroughly. If you don't want to, don't bother with mods. ;) Otherwise, check 'em out.

Or, you could also check out Emma's manual method.
I have used Emma's technique for mod installation since I first read about it, and I've never looked back, it's really simple and straightforward.
