Yes, that one. The one you find in his chambers at the start of SoU. The one you can't open, because you're told its surrounded by an "arcane magical field," and requires a special key. Has anybody ever found this key? If so, where? And if so, were the contents worth the effort?

I always just assumed that was the chest that was meant to hold the stolen artifacts as I've played SoU at least 6 times now and never found the key or managed to open it.

Yet both the door and the chest are locked after the kobolds have already stolen the artifacts. If the chest held the artifacts originally, that would seem to imply the kobolds re-magicked the chest locked with the key you can't find, then relocked the door with the key only Drogan's mini-dragon has, and never gave up.

Confusing, innit?

Same here, though Fable raises a good point IMO. It could also be that it was something left incomplete because they ran out of time..

I searched thoroughly for a way to open that chest, and I also scoured Google. The only thing I found was a forum post somewhere stating that it did not seem possible to unlock the chest at all.

It is not possible to open that chest.

I looked at it in the Toolkit. It isn't even a container.


Personally, I think it is something like a joke from the Devs....
