So how do I continue this quest? there is this door in the basement, but I dont know how to open it.. anyone know?

After finding the secret door, go back to the first floor. You should find a broken jar on the ground. It would seem that there was both a hand and a letter hidden inside that jar. Take them both.
Your journal should now update and you should be able to continue this quest.
But you should also sleep in that manor, at least for one hour, if you don't do it, there won't be any ghosts and the jar won't drop.
